Yesterday Creative Chaos Productions organized a fund-raising event for Manzil Educational Organization at the PACC Auditorium. Bhailog Co.(dramatics group consisting of IBA students), Funkaars(another dramatics group, don’t now about their origin) and Above(IBA rock band) performed at the event. The auditorium was packed to capacity and the performances were all great. Funkaars portraid a Sindhi guy trying to become a karachitte and Bhailog did some skits, one of them was named Sindhi Idol the next one was basically a take on a local TV shopping network. Both the groups performances were hilarious. After a 20 min break Above came on to rock the crowd. They were pretty good too.
Highlight of the evening, girl standing in the middle of the auditorium with her purple panties sticking out from the top of her jeans.

Metrosexuality is the latest epidemic spreading amongst the male species of Karachi. You find them sitting in salons getting facials, manicures, pedicures and God only knows what. Next theyíll be asking for a bikini wax. And in their pathetic attempt to appear macho they have David Beckham as their poster boy, come on!!
I know there is nothing wrong with men taking care of how they look but there is a difference between taking care and obsessing.

Ok, I admit. Not much is happening these days. As much as I try to notice something significant while commuting to and from work, I don’t come across anything worthy. Despite the fast and hectic life, things seem to have slowed down a bit. The hassle of under-construction clifton underpass, the congested shahrah-e-faisal, the hot, dry weather, the cool breeze of sea-views, everything seems to have faded in this strange whirlpool. I really need to do something to get that old spirit back. I live in Karachi, dammit! I can’t live a static life.
How’s it going with you guys?

Due to the dust storm yesterday there is still a lot of dust in the atmosphere. While returning home to North Nazimabad, I had to go due west. Facing the setting sun.
It was a divine experience. A large red disk. Completely circular. Completely red. Strangest colour of the sky. Strangest feeling looking at the scene, having stopped my car on one side of the road.
Wonderful sunset today.

Efforts to approve Karachi and Chicago as ìsister citesî may soon materialize, as the committee set up to approve the two cities as sister cities has given its consent to the proposal which will soon be signed between the Chicago City Government and Karachi City District Government.
Comparing Karachi to Chicago is more of a joke then an actual reality. What do you have to say on this new development

The entire city was in the throes of a dust storm today. The sky was so stark it looked what New York must have after the 9/11 incident, as a friend of mine said. Being allergic to dust myself and knowing the large population of asthma sufferers in the city, one can only pray that it all clears up tomorrow.
