Angelina Jolie in Karachi
I’m surprised none of the male metrobloggers posted about this first. The submarine roundabout, a handy alternative now that the underpass has clogged up the more direct routes via Shaun Circle, features a very large billboard for an advertising company. Up next to the equally massive Ufone billboard, is a giant close up of Angelina Jolie. A quick poll of male friends who pass by that roundabout assures me that I’m not the only one who’s noticed. According to one, “i pass by that billboard every morning, it totally makes my day seeing jolie!”.
I would hate to be the poor lady featured on the Ufone billboard right next to the spectacular Jolie billboard, though. Poor woman probably doesn’t get any attention at all anymore. However, I’m left wondering, is this just another act of rampant disregard for violations of copyrights or is the advertising agency in question actually allowed to use Miss Jolie’s image legally?
thats an awesome billboard – almost caused a colleague to ram his car when i pointed it out – and since when has Pakistan been worried about copyrights?

I haven’t noticed the one you mentioned, but definitely noticed the one on Kalapul going towards Defence market featuring AJ with a ‘Tolet’ number. Wonder if the number really works :p

Yeah i saw that… well Ufone is a big company.. they CAN pay Jolie for it…. but of course, since this is Pakistan.. it can always easily be the other way around! :) btw it was a nice pic..
Angelina Jolie is at Mariott, Karachi for a two day UN meeting…she’s been spotted there last night and early morning by shocked visitors
