Why Karachi Rocks: Reason #4

There is no way you can go hungry in Karachi. At any given time you will find a place open and serving food. Be it the wee hours of night, or the middle of the day, you are bound to find a dhabba, a resturant, a hotel, a rehri wala, paan wala, milk shop serving lassi, anything that puts off the fire in your stomach. If you are one of those who cannot find a place to eat, you haven’t really explored the city.

Very true… am in islamabad right now and even on the weekend there is NOTHING open after 11:30!!! Despite driving around the whole city (yes one can do that in under an hour) there was nothing anywhere.

have to disagree with you Saba. I struggled to find a good place to have breakfast last time I visited (besides dunkin donuts) Even McD’s apparently don’t do breakfast.

dan, in karachi breakfast means halwa puri and nihari and paye, not eggs and muffins!

I might be able to digest halwa and puri in the morning once in a while but i doubt if my stomach will agree with nehari and paye that early in the day!

Well I must agree about places to eat in Karachi. There seem to be more and more choices everyday. We have just moved here from NYC and are shocked at the quality of food. I never thought such places as Okra, Limoncello or Pompei could exsist here. i am proud of these guys.

On the cheap thrill side of things. Again you are right, KO, there are many quick chut-pata option too.

Dan Q, I have discovered some fab places for breakfast and brunch. I live in and work in D.H.A so don’t get much of a chance to go anywhere else – but try Espresso for breakfast. Very good pricing and great grub. For brunch on Sunday we went to limoncello, another great option with good pricing.

    Good eating guys……
