Across the Street
Where else can you find such absolute disparity of wealth on two sides of the same street?
On one side, the poverty stricken Neelam Colony, where rooms with three walls are closed in with odd lengths of cloth for privacy and across the street we have “Euro Tiles”, offering expensive tiling for the homes on the “right” side of the street.
Such visual images say a lot about economic conditions of a city/country. Foreigners don’t have to read the whole economic survey of Pakistan to know about it. A simple drive-through through the major cities would be suffiecient for them to know the about this country.
