Jamshed Ansari passed away.

Famous Television actor Mr. Jamshed Ansari passed away in Karachi (Inna lillahi wa inna ilahi rajion). I think he had a brain tumor but I havenít heard much of the news yet if, this, was the cause of his death.

He was born on December 31st 1942. In 1960ís during his stay at London he worked for BBC and acted in some stage dramas. He won around 55 national and 2 international awards including Quid-e-Azam award. Tanhaiyaan, Ankahi, Half Plate etc are only some names of his famous drama serials. Another legend gone, another asset lost. May his soul rest in peace.

With a nod from none other than Pres Bush, some conservative educationists in the US are pushing reforms to include the theory of Inteliigent Design aka Creationism to be taught alongside the Theory of Evolution. Their recent victory in the state of Kansas prompted one guy to propose a yet another “theory of intelligent design” attributing the creation of this universe by… umm ….. The Flying Spaghetti Monster…..

only in America…. as the saying goes …..

i am really sad to hear about the death news of Jamshed Ansari. He was one of the most refined actors of Pakistan television. I had met him once and found him a very down to earth person. I can never forget his roles like Hasnat Bhai in Uncle Urfi and Safdar Bhai in Kiran Kahani. May Allah bless his soul in eternal peace. Ameen!

I am extremely sad and shocked at the passing away of Jamshed Ansari. Years ago I used to live in the block right next to Jamshed Ansari’s apartment (Erum Palace) in Gulshan Iqbal and had the good fortune of meeting him many times. He was always smiling and so cheerful. I don’t even remember how many times I asked him for his autohraphs!

I remember his son, Ghalib, as well.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and we ask Allah to give Jamshed Ansari a place in Janat, ameen.

Just like all others, I was truly shocked to hear the news. I live in US and would watch all his TV shows and rent his dramas. I have memorized all his lines in ANKAHI as “Timmy”…Some say hasnat bhai was his best role but i think his punch lines in ankahi were the best. i didnt even realize he was 63..he looked so young..never even heard the news of his brain tumor till now..Geo TV is showing a memorial program on Sunday 5.30 P.M CST…i`ll record that progrma for sure. I wish there was more online info available…Just see one interview with the kalia group..if someone else know any links, please post..Thanks
