I agree with the parking issue as well. However, I would also like to mention that right outside the Costa Coffee, they have placed these huge planters in order to block their frontage. I hope they know that this area which they are blocking is not their property, but it belongs to the D.H.A and anybody can park there. For some reason, their gaurds are authorized to debate this with the customer. So, there you have it, additional parking for atleast 5 more cars.
Why is it that these multinational franchises feel that they can just take over what they want in our country and push us around. Next time I go, I will be sure not to let them tell me where to park.

The Costa chain is going well in the Middle-East but Karachi, I don't think so. Yes, I was there one of these days and despite it being a working day next day... the place was really crowded till about 1 in the morning and really, really happening. God knows how many acquaintances I met there. The only problem is that the place is ruthlessly expensive. Yes, I know "expensive" is a relative term... and varies from one person to another, but hey... PKR 150/- for the smallest, most basic cup of coffee. You gotta be kidding me... and if you wanna decent cup, do you have a spare Rs. 250-300/- for the honour. The coffee's good though... can't wait for the starbucks to open up. Does anyone know when Starbucks coming to town?

have not tried it yet but i would prefer Kaldi's environ and irish potatoes to espresso's cramed enviorn and hard seats any given day. coffee wise, hot spot it is for me, or diablo from gelato. will try this place out but if the coffee is as waery as espresso's then nah-uh.

I visited around 10 p.m. and there weren't a lot of people. I agree, parking problem is definitely going to haunt this place. Decent food, very limited choice and steep prices is how I would characterize it. They were out of a lot of items in the menu too. And for my bill I actually had to beg the waiters. All in all, I would say that Deja Vu is still the best coffee place in the city.

Parking problem is getting on my nerves these days..... someone should open a parking lot chain in karachi and sell monthly passes which will be used at all the parking lots and he will be a billionaire soon...

Always wanting to try out new places, my friends and I went there last evening around 7.30. It was a hassle finding a parking space as the whole lane is filled with shops. Costa Coffee was mostly empty, but it is big compared with other eateries at Zamzama. The sandwiches (arabietta, chicken/beef with cheese) were not bad, but not great either, and could do with french fries rather than the chips they offer. The mocha frescato wasn't bad at all, and the serving was huge. Prices were comparable with other places, and overall it seems Costa will do well. Now only if there was more parking space there!

I went there tonight around 10-30. The coffee was amazing and so were the sandwiches, although the potato chips on the side looked right out of United Bakery. They were out of a lot of stuff from thier menu though. They said it was due to the much bigger turnout than what the had anticipated.

Looks like karachites have a new hangout join for Ramadan.
