almost ramadan/ramzan

It happened last year and it happened this year again. The Ruet-e-Hilal committee declared that the moon for Ramazan-ul-Mubarak was not sighted today hence the first of Ramzan will fall on thursday, 6th of october. This decision was greeted by mixed emotions because those who believe we should always have ramzan the very next day ramzan starts in the Saudi Arab are clearly disturbed. For those who are trying to avoid Ramzan, it’s yet another day of freedom(?) and rest, well, they’re going about their lives as usual.

People have been doing the pre-ramzan shopping to avoid the usual rush and the hike in prices. Fruit sellers and other food outlets/bakeries etc increasing the prices in ramzan seems to be an oxymoron of sorts. And then there is the inevitable iftar time traffic jam. When people are starved and dying to get home in time for iftari and they end up swearing at each other….to spoil their roza(fast) just minutes before it’s over. Its quite a scene :)
Anyway, this means that there will definitely be a roza on thursday so ramzan is here more or less. So RAMZAN MUBARAK to all the karachi metbloggers and metblog readers :)

Actually Saudi Arab & other five Islamic Arab countries wrongly declared ramadan in their respective countries. this also happened a few years back . but we cant object coz their proximity to Islam.

Anywayz ramadan Mubarak 2 all metroblogging bloggers & commentors.May Allah bless us all. :)

2 days gone still no moon. the rouete halal bums on state expense are tap dancing on a roof top of some 5 star hotel or some other stupid tower… why dont they just take up bungee jumping instead?

in this day of satellite and whatnot why cant the muslim world agree on the first of ramzan for a change?

Allah created the universe. The lunar and solar clockwork are his creation. We should follow the lunar calendar instead of moon sighting by a bunch of octogenarians feasting on government fed chicken sandwiches and sighting the moon with their coke bottle eyeglasses.
