Karachi’s New Nazim

From Dawn:

KARACHI, Oct 6: Syed Mustafa Kamal of the Haq Parast Group, backed by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, won the post of Karachi city nazim on Thursday. Mr Kamal bagged 1,493 votes against 800 votes obtained by his main rival, former city nazim Niamatullah Khan, fielded by the Tameer-i-Karachi Ittehad of the combined opposition parties.

Fans and supporters of Niamatullah Khan must be disappointed, but the main question is: will the new nazim actually do anything for the city’s development? Only time will tell I suppose.

I hope and pray that in pakistan INSHALLAH soon we get a leader who is interested in solving common publics problems. Like inflation, security and the list goes on.
