Need server for communication network

If you have some spare hardware lying around, this is the best time to use it. Just make sure it meets the required specs.

As part of the South Asia Quake Help Blog (http://quakehelp.blogspot.com) & Wiki efforts, we are trying to setup a SMS2Web/Web2SMS system in Pakistan/India (affected areas). As has been in other recent disasters, SMS seems to be the only available communication means in the affected areas.

This system if setup could be used by relief workers, affected people and other volunteers to exchange important information about their relief needs, situation reports etc. Major Relief Agencies have shown interest in such a system. We have been trying for the last 72 hours or so with little success.

We are looking Asterisk (Open Source IP PBX) Linux Servers, some Asterisk Hardware and a few phone lines in Pakistan or India. More detailed information on what’s needed is available here:

    Hello

Huma,i myself is a computer engineer, since cellular services are working in affected areas as well,i am willing or anyone who can,to make a website, attached with mobile phones, the aid workers working on remote areas could send sms to some particular shortcode with a keyword and different info can be exchanged between mobile device and website, let me give you an example

suppose some aid worker found a person named Ahmad, live in Balakot..all he could do to send sms “FOUND Ahmad Balakot” to a shortcode e.g 911

the info would store in remote database, such services used a lot by different channels for music voting via SMS. this is just an example, even AID worker could send SMS for the demand of some required thing and that info would be send all the base camps/volunteers,providing such services..

the bigggest hurdle for me is that i dont have resources to contact concerned companies who provide such services, for instance Mobilink,if you have some resources or GEO channel could helpout,it would be a great help, few guys already got agreed to work with me. kindly let me know, you may mail me at adnan.siddiqi@NOSPAMcyber.net.pk or
    kadnan@NOSPAM.gmail.com

Fakhr alam already trying to establish some database, one of my friend establised a website,http://earthquakepk.com/cms/ and if i get help by some Mobile operators or local SMS aggregator,we would use this site to store information

    Thanks

    Adnan
    Thanks
