Papa Jannu Service Sux

This is a follow-up post from the one that Huma just did. Being so tied up with the EQ efforts I forgot to RANT on Papa Jannu (aka Papa Johns).

Well my first encounter with Papa Jannu was about 3 days after the EQ, late at night after a busy day collecting items from relatives and friends all over Karachi for EQ victims, we were on the final stretch to head over to the PAF Meuseum to drop off the Relief goods. Hungry at 12:00am we decided to do a takeaway from Papa Johns. Hell YEAH cried the gang. I walked up to the takeaway counter (remember I am tired) looked at the menu and the first thing the dude from the cage yells is “Sorry we have No Thandi Bootlle Sirf Garam Bootllee Hai “. Hmmm bad start, but decided to swing by Motta’s (Mental Note: add 10 min more on the drive to PAF). I placed the order and

the cashier promptly took the money and said that it would be ready in 15 minutes. Not bad, I walked back to the car and waited. 15 minutes later showed my head again to hear an apology, sorry its not ready yet, five minutes more. I then choose to stand at the window, I continued to ask repeatedly every 4-5 min to receive the same response.

UNTIL about 40 minutes into the ordeal – my top blew OFF and I went berserk ;) In a panic they scrambled trying to locate my pizza and all of sudden their In-charge points to a box of pizza lying on the side which happened to be lying there for at least 15 minutes. A cold clammy Papa John’s pizza served to the Teeth Maestro – NOOOOOO WAAYYY.

I protested, but things got worse as they had accidentally handed my garlic bread to someone else – realising the missing order they apologized and ran to get it. I SIMPLY DEMANDED A REFUND their response was we are Sorry can you please wait 5 more minutes its almost ready.

ENOUGH – I had it – so I said F^%$ it ! Give me the pizza, the sales rep then had the nerve to resist by arguing that I had not paid for it – WOW – but immediately realized that he actually remembered charging me for it and probably forgot to hand me the correct receipt. That was it – I walked off with a cold clammy Pizza fuming and without a garlic bread. We bought coke from Mottas and joined the mile long line at PAF finally to finish the day at 2-30am.

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WAS BAD – PRESENTLY THE SERVICE SUX

But how was the pizza. I think it should be “Poor Ingredients. Poor Pizza.”

Yes and they needed to improve operations before going on a full throttle advertising campaign.

Case in point is Costa Coffee. No advertising. Just good food and coffee. People love going there.

Too bad they messed up a good thing like that…. even though they did an excellent job with the pre-opening hype…. almost everyone i know was talking about it when it opened up… but what a let down afterwards…. and i had bragged about how good it is in the states…. after the mess here, i had to hear everyone’s taunts about my taste buds :(

Who says papa john’s is ‘big’ or good for that matter in the US? It’s only good when it’s served free at student organization callouts!!

Well Papa John’s is OK as food has become a Comoodity & a Fashion Spree in Karachi…. The one thing ppl complain at Papa (thnks to Piza Hut)is that the bread in thin and doesn’t fill the belly. Pizza are always in the west Eaten with hte crust Thin..Only the Pizza Hut ppl here provides us with THICK crust so as to there is no shortage of Pizzaz and money can flow thorut hte day (sickoo’s). Regardin Costa well i Think ppl with enormous amount of money can go there.. I wih ma friends had Coffee with Creme and its 300 per person.. And pl r paying for it…tats why i said Food as become a Fashion in KHI.. If v think as an average person in the US who can drink a Coffee for a $1 and wont pay any more than only v can really dominate these Bafoons
