Shopping Stories

Why is it, that in Ramazan, you’ll always find someone pushing you to buy something? I was at Astra yesterday afternoon, trying to buy some food in the spare 5 minutes thta I had before rushing off to a meeting, and this woman keeps running after me with a booklet, saying ‘Please baat sunlein’ ‘Dekhein ismein aap ke liye gifts hain’. When she finally caught up with me at the dairy section I told her that I wasn’t interested, and then she opens up the booklet and says ‘But this is for the shopping you’re doing! Agar aap Rs.600 se zyada shopping karrahe hain to yeh gifts hain-‘. At that point I yelled ‘MY SHOPPING IS LESS THAN 600!’ at which she scuttled off mumbling apologies. To top it off, Astra refused to accept my debit card after telling me earlier that they did accept debit cards, and I had to look for every penny in my bag to try to pay the bill.

Interesting story… were you at park tower Astra?? If yes why didnt you just get the cash from the ATM instead of wasting time with the cashier. It would have been easier dont u think?

Because I was in a hurry, and when the Astra guy said they accepted debit cards I didnt think of rushing to the ATM again – eventually I had to return two hours later, withdraw cash from the ATM and run the rest of my errands.
