new month

Aren’t we all glad October is over? This has been the longest month of my life. I will never forget all the stress and trauma I went through last month, not to mention Ramadan kept me on my toes all the time. I hope it’s all downhill from here and things will be easier in coming weeks and months.

Hmmm. Historically speaking, October tends to be a month of bad omens. And really rough fresh starts.

It’s astounding how much shock have we absorbed.

    Or have we?

It has indeed been hard and trying times for the entire nation… October became “Red October” with the disaster it brought along. However, one should also remember this month as a month of unity and brotherhood that we all thought was lost some where in the quagmire of all the political, religious, and secretarial mayhem.

Through these God-forsaken times, we saw the nation rise above all differences and do all they could to help their fellow brothers and sisters… efforts that were lauded by the entire world. Every heart that felt the pain cried, every able hand that saw the devestation reached out. Yes, this month brought a lot of misery upon us all in one way or the other. It also brought a sense of belonging and strengthened our belief in each other.

I for one can am proud to be a citizen of this strong nation!
