Eid or no Eid?

So, what’s your prediction? Is the crescent going to show up tonight? Or do we have to fast another day? My prediction is that today is the last day of Ramadan and tomorrow we will have Eid.

The way people are getting excited it feels like there is no chance of a saturday eid… although i wish that eid will be on saturday… don’t really like eid to fall on friday..

I say tomorrow, more for political reasons than moon-sighting alone. Besides, people will not want eid on saturday and office on monday

By the look of events, I will say that Friday will definately be the first day of Eid.

Oh. It’s un-fitting for a Muslim to say this, but I remember they say a Friday Eid is bad omen – for the government! (It was Friday, I am sure??) Story goes that in Ayub Khan’s time, Eid was once falling on Friday, and the government manipulated the date nevertheless.

    And the government fell nevertheless.

    God knows best!

I prefer the Eid on saturday so that we can get another day of fasting, another friday of Ramadan.

ramla, that was exactly my point (not to wreak havoc or anything) but if half the world does not see a moon today (assuming we really dont) and then ReHC does say its Eid omorrow, i sense teh political tussle between Mush and mull falling prey to an Omen.

I think the omen has never failed.

Hmmm. Regardless of an omen, if people believe something to be true, well, the Universe lets it be true. Weird.

    Allah rehem karay.
