Argghhh, the traffic outside is insane, insane I tell you! Anyhoo, the rush at coffee shops was…mind boggling to put it mildly. Costa had a 1-hour waiting time, and we didnt even bother trying at Espresso or Kaldi. Tried out this new place called Lattetude instead, which is located in the same lane as Costa Coffee at Zamzama. I loved the interior, it was very cosy and homey with orange and red lights and comfortable sofas. The coffees we tried out were great, just the right amount of caffeine, and they had actual sugar lumps! Tthe prices are more or less the same as Espresso’s – a moccacino cost us Rs. 135, and a small plate of french fries was for Rs. 75 [that was a let down, fries for 75 bucks?!]. The servers were really nice and well-mannered, which is such a refreshing change. Talking to the owner, we found out that the place opened up a week ago, and it was packed like anything, with people waiting for over 30 minutes for a table. The only objection that I had apart from the measely amount of fries served was the size of the place – it has only 5 – 6 tables! However, I’d still recommend it – there is only so much of coffee at Espresso and Costa that one can have.

On my recent trip to Pakistan, I had the opportunity to visit several restaurants/cafes. Although the food was amazing, what disappointed me was that there was no restriction on smoking within or there was no designate non-smoking seating area. It was sad to see that folks in Pakistan still consider smoking as something Hip or something that includes you in the upper tiers of the social strata.

A list of all the cool hangouts, with their specialities, and an estimated per head price would be great! Something in the vein of:

    – Name of Place
    – Address (and directions)
    – Specialities
    – Estimated per head cost (starter + main course + dessert alongwith drinks)
    – Latitude and longitude would do for us GPS buffs :) (if there are any besides me!)

I for one am not a huge coffee fan but speaking of Lattetude, definitely cosy and homely. Lovely place to relax and unwind. Their calamri and chicken wings are definite favorites. Absolutley in love with the lattes there and molten mocha is such a killer dessert….really rich! but definitely yummy!
