Unknown fatal disease in Birds

Hundreds of migrant birds are dieing in interior Sindh, in coastal areas with an unknown disease. They have wounds and swollen necks. Most of these birds come from Siberia etc in cold weather to spend their winter in countries like Pakistan, somewhere around the coast or the Lakes we have in Sindh, like Keenjhar and Manchar.

Wild Life authorities have sent the blood samples to Karachi and Islamabad for the HI test which will further help to investigate. They denied it is a Bird Flu at this stage and reminded there could be dozens of other reasons. After HI test reports they might be able to tell whatís causing it. But in the mean time, just for the precautionary measures, letís avoid some chicken.

It could be the bird flu pendemic that has affected the pacific rim countries and also Eastern Europe. Migratory birds carry it from one region to another.

Be very careful if handling these birds. It is fatal.
