I am glad that theres someone doing some good work on the entertainment side of IT. However, the last thing we need is another game that fuels anger.
We all need to learn to be tolerant and this game certainly wont help.

MOst videogames are violent. The entertainment industry thrives on violence as a whole. Opposing or supressing books, video games, movies and so on about war and killing does absolutely no good when the very real possibility of war could actually land up on your doorstep any one of these uncertain days.

My criticism is entirely on another aspect: the name. As most gamers would know, Commandos is already a successful series of videogames. Why not start out own original series instead of appending another number to the existing series. If we want to make a name for Pakistan in the gaming industry, start off with an originally named series at least.

That being said, I hear it’s a decent game and a step in the right direction. However, I’m worried about piracy affecting the dedication of the creators when they see all their hard work being ripped and traded across Pakistan. Give the fledgling industry we have a chance, people, if you want to play the game, buy it.

    From the FAQs,

    Q. Some people are saying that the name of the game is copied from the popular series “Commandos” by Eidos Entertainment. Is that true?

Ans. The name of the game is Commando 4 and not Commandos, which are both legally different names. Secondly, the name Commando 4 is an inspiration from Urdu Novel Commando 4 by Munir Ahmed Rashid. Its story is based on the Pakistan Army SSG Commando whose code name was Commando 4 and he fought in 1971 in Bangladesh to safeguard his country. This information is totally misleading that the name of the game has been copied and does not result in any sort of copyright violation as we have confirmed with our legal advisors.

I think the only valid criticism is the theme with the game and lead character being a Molana with a Beard, that the game claims is our Hero is. This is not sending out a possitive msg in the world.

Other then that lets praise the efforts of guys, they r not pros, they r just FAST’s students who created this game.
