Gas Price.

I remember around 5/6 years ago when I used to drive Suzuki FX the gas price used to be RS 22 point something per liter. In RS 50/- you can go touch the sea and come back to gulshan and in RS 100/- you can roam around the whole city all day long.

Now its RS 56 plus per liter, that is more than 150% (or more than 1.5 time) what used to be 5 years ago, all I wonder is, has the buying power of the common people increased in the same fashion?

Hell its too much – the govt slowly increases the prices without subsidizing the rate, they claim that this price increase will not impact the poor but you and i know thats jsut hogwash – every cent increase means transportation of commodities increases and hence price is bound to increase.

well, in all fairness, gas was about 30$ a barrel in the 80’s. some odd 15-20 years later it’s barely at 60$. it hasn’t even caught up with inflation yet. so you really shouldn’t be complaining. stop driving around for “roaming around” and wasting petrol if it means so much to you to conserve.

hey, I have a question, how can one post a blog/message on the first page of Karachi metorbloging like this one, that iam commenting on, please help…
and while talking about gas prices, please when u talk about price on an international commodity donĂt take it in terms of rupee as 6 years ago rupee was around 46 and now its 60, adding other factors it is going to come to that, one suggestion the government should force all local manufactures of cars to make hybrids in Pakistan, like the one they flaunt all over the world, I am talking about CIVIC hybrid, Toyota prius etc.
