Karachi One Day in a Fix

It seems as if the Pak-Eng One Day match planned for the 15th of Dec is undergoing a serious reevaluation. I can only quote rumors floating around the circle and maybe someone here can help attest to the fact or deny it outright. The BCCP has announced that the match is ON but the English team managment have raised serious questions for the Karachi One Dayer and a few proposals have been forwarded to the Core Commander Karachi.

– To cancel the match all together and play it at some other location (less likely as the BCCP has already publicly annoucned that the match is ON)
– The team will not reside at PC or Sheraton but will only stay at Country Club which has to be completely cordoned off to public access during the stay
– If they reside at Country Club they either need a fool proof way to get to the stadium or use three helicopters with extensive security arrangements.
– Will only play at the National Stadium provided there is NO Crowd (an empty stadium)

Please all these options are not at all confirmed options, but more so the rumor mill of Karachi, can anyone attest to these reports? It would be sad if the match is held without crowd or God-Forbid called off, but stupid ass terrorists have no common sense

these proposals would sound ridiculous under other circumstances, but after the bomb blast, i guess its understandable that they are concerned–but it would be really stupid to have a match without a CROWD! and ok the helicopter idea is just a little far-fetched!

I too would agree the Helicopter idea seems a bit far out – as in my opinion a helicopter is a far easier target than a drive through town,

But give it a second thought plan their route then it does not seem bad after all – In a helicopter security all you have to watch out for is aerial firing / sniper firing – safe only if you follow secure routes. How about flying over Army Garrison Malir when taking off from Country club –> head over the airport follow Shahrai Faisal where on the sides is a secure PAF Base Faisal, you then follow the lead to Naval Base Karsaz and bingo National Stadium – ;) simple, I doubt they could even dream of a better and safer route then I just have ;).

I might agree with you this too is a bit far fetched – whereever they live and however they get there, as long as they play with a full house with me in the stands, im all game.

Hell if India can play in Khi, security for the angrez should be a walk in the park

it will be bad real bad if the match is called off errrrr.

I believe the type of security Indians were given similar one can ensure safety. But it doesnt look good rite now, fingers crossed.

ohhhhh Sami takes out Collingwood 67/4 :D :D.
