Burning the Junk!!!

Burning the Junk!!!

Karachi is a big city and it produces tons of garbage daily. Due to the lake of interest of officials as well as citizens neither the junk is collected nor disposed of properly… It is creating enormous problems with every passing day and now it becomes One of the Biggest Problems.

Yesterday while walking through streets I was suffocated due to the burning of garbage. KMC cleaners were cleaning the road and setting fire the collected junk almost after 50 – 80 yards. I remember there is a law to prevent “Junk Burning” but I think KMC employees are not interested to follow the rules and officials remain busy in other IMPORTANT issues.

A massive endeavor is required to Protect Our City’s Beauty… We Karachiite can do Great Joint Ventures as we did after quake.

Waste management is big business around the world. This could provide jobs for millions in Pakistan.

India and China are already raking billions of dollars from developed countries.

Well dont you see all those street kids picking up “someone else’s” garbage then turning it into their livlyhoods.
We are all against trash burning but like everything else in life the government wont solve it somehow the locals just got to do it.
I do my part; all of my organic waste i put in my lawn; also if i have a plastic bag i dont throw it away i just use it again when i go shopping…i think little stuff is what can make a big difference in Karachi … if 13,000,000 of us did a little a lot would happen.
