With or without you
Earl Gray. Hot.
A table top made up of broken bathroom tiles and plaster.
Eight people. Strangers, acquaintances, friends.
Talking loudly, noisy and disorganized.
Caffeine. On Sea View.
Neighbourhoods, Offices, Houses. Complete disparity of backgrounds.
Suddenly, there is heavenly music. Silence, Caffeine, U2, With or without you.
See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I wait for you
Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you
With or without you
With or without you
Through the storm we reach the shore
You give it all but I want more
And Iím waiting for you
With or without you
With or without you
I canít live
With or without you
And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away
My hands are tied
My body bruised, sheís got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to lose
And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away
With or without you
With or without you
I canít live
With or without you
With or without you
With or without you
I canít live
With or without you
With or without you
Geez….
Don’t mean to be negative and all but all the posts (except for the first one) regarding the meetup are really pushing the envelope on “corny”. We get it!!! You all met up at Arizona Grill, had vastly different socio-economic backgrounds, discussed the Karachi blog and had a good time. Let’s let it rest at that.
Faisal – I see your point – but look at the beauty of it. The beauty of blogging, you get to read how everyone felt, their emotions and their interpretation of this brief interaction.
We have no intention of over-rubbing this meet-up encounter but you can’t and should not curtail what a blogger wants to blog about it then is bordering censorship.
Let them talk what they want, and YOU as a reader can choose what to read and what not to read – as they say ‘survival of the fittest’. I hope you understand – PEACE
Aalahazrat:
Just mentioning U2 “With or Withour You” is enough. During my age the equivalent would have been “Money” from Pink Floyd.
Wish I was there.
Regards
Sarwar
Okay. I was quiet bcos i was shocked what happened to othes :p for a moment i thought i was attending a funeral :D sorry guys, but i m not really into music, i was just paying respect to whatever u guys beleive in :)
Faisal, please bear with us this time… we r all still excited… expect atleast a post from me too in day or two about the same :$
Just mentioning U2 was enough to make me want to throw up ! The corni-ness was an added bonus:)
another U2 non believer??
Anon: we all have our choices, u might agree or disagree with my preferences, but the beauty lies in the difference of opinion.
If we all loved and did the same things the world over, would it be any fun..?
What heretical blasphemy!
I do say that I listen to other with more relish. Eric Clapton, Bruce Springstein, Elvis Presley, Dire Straits etc etc etc.
Faisal – This post was not about the meetup. This post was about me being with a couple of people I dont know in a well known Karachi restaurant after the witching hour, this post is my Karachi experience at 2330 that day. Maybe that will explain my two posts in one night after a long period of inactivity.
blasphemy … non-believer :) Hey guys, U2 is not a religion.
Anon…..
i seriously doubt that the words “blasphemy”
and “non-believer” were used in an attempt
to elevate U2 to the status of a religion.
Like I said. Strange sense of humour.
Faisal, seriously I doubted it too – that is why I put a smiley in there :)
Came across a site recently which tries to understand the meaning behind the lyrics of U2 songs. With or Without You’s synopsis can be found here ( http://hem.bredband.net/steverud/U2MoL/JTree/withoutyou.html ) Interesting read even if my opinions may differ.
Oh and I forgot to mention. Quite soppy too. he he.
i bet the traffic on the U2 wali site saira mentioned has increased tremedously…:P
Anon…
I stand corrected.
Did not catch the smiley there….
Faisal, no sweat – I know it is hard to catch the smileys :) Anyway, it is great fun to have these discussions. Nice of you to acknowledge your correction though :)
Get a room.
