We are (NOT) the cricket fans.

We are (Menís) cricket fans.

Or maybe, itís the quality of the cricket.

Almost no one knew today was the first match of Womenís Asia Cup in National Stadium Karachi between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Pakistan is hosting the Asian Cup and there are total of 7 matches to be played including a final.

So, anyone know who won today?

Where in Karachi # 42

Ok guys…
Here is the ultimate challenge….

Where in Karachi is this place??

Roasted potatoes.

potatoes_roasted.jpg

I have had breakfast in a bunch of hotels around Pakistan, and after today’s breakfast at Marco Polo at Pearl Continental, I am fully convinced that roasted potatoes taste the same everywhere. They’re never fresh, never hot and they really don’t taste of anything, not even potatoes. What surprises me is how every hotel in Pakistan manages to make them the same way. Is this a conspiracy to prevent people from eating them? Is it a conspiracy to make them reach for the chocolate croissants and the halwa puri? Whatever be the case, either take those roasted potatoes off the menu or learn how to make them properly.

New Year Parties List

Karachi enjoys to celebrate this coming new year in style, unfortunately the major balls like MALC and Special Olympics have been shelved due to the earthquake crisis but I am quite sure there are tons of other parties all around the city.

Submit information to any parties in the comment section and lets gather a decent list of the new year parties around town.

Wheels in perspective….

Remember the wheels that used to spin when time passed in an indian movie…..now which one should it be?
the bus? or the flashy city…..

Back to the point……they are both a set of wheels, but catering to completely different economic classes.
and on the side, you see the most deprived, begging class.

But to everyone of them, Karachi is nothing, but the place they call home….

Home sweet home…

Air Show.

PICT0049.JPG

Since Inspirex shared meteorite, and Ramla saw the Lucy in the sky I thought I will share some old pics from the Air Show, seems like an airborne season :p

Anyway, these pictures were taken on 21st Dec 2003, Air Show on the beach, maybe, some of you were there too? I am not an expert on aircrafts but if I remember right, these machines are T-37’s and the solo is F-16 (Correct me if I am wrong).

That was a nice event, I would love to attend something similar.

Karsaz Flyover?

I was driving on Karsaz road (dunno what itís actual name is) towards Sharah-e-Faisal, when I saw this sign that said ìDrive Slow, Karsaz Flyoverî. Did I miss something here? I never knew they were building a flyover at Karsaz-SF junction as well. Anyone here knows the details about his flyover?
