Pashmina Shawl For Men

A few days back I wrote a post titled Ladies Dressing Down in Karachi Winters which was an attempt to mock at the winter fashion trends prevalent in Karachi. But was I in for a shock, the comments started pouring in and the discussion was not on the abs-revealing ladies but more so at my having worn a Black Pashmina Shawl.

Some labelled me Gay while others ridiculed me and my fashion sense, to be very honest I really enjoyed all the comments. I really think the importance of this issue is akin to the Kalabagh Dam, and the future of Men’s Fashion depends on the overall consensus from the people of Karachi If Men can be allowed to wear a Black Pashmina Shawl?

You can’t possibly ask for a poll without showing us pictures :) So go on, post one of you without a shawl and one with. Then and only then can a proper decision be made.
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a man in a shawl , any color at all,so I cannot give you a verdict until such pictures are posted.
    Don’t be shy now :)

I have been wearing shawls a lot. It is quite a regular attire up north where the winters are much harsher.

But, Pashmina, is a no no.

there’s nothing gay about it..if the scottish men are proud of their kilts, then the doctor can be proud of his shawl..;)

But the scottish kilt is a part of their heritage. The shawl on the other hand seems to be a fashion statement – surely,Karachi is never that cold to warrant winter clothing.

Erin Brokvich said something to the effect: “As long as I have one ass and not two, I will wear whatever I want to wear.” You may want to follow the same advice Dr. Sahab!

Why just shawls and skirts…how about a pink dress shirt under a dark suit. I think only a few guys can pull that off without looking gay.
I think men in shawls look nice ….and we ladies can borrow them from the guys when we are done showing off our clothes or freezing ………LOL

i think most people here who’re comparing pashminas to skirts and pink dresses don’t know what pashminas really are. :)

black shawls on men are so classy.
