Matchmakers observe changing trends

Pak Positive, the cheerful Pakistani reporter of all news good, has blogged a Jang report on changing matchmaking trends in Karachi.

So, are people going for beauty, or brains? Or “opportunity?” (Visa, gold, and some priceless things.)

I see a lot of people striking it up with each other on their own, and getting the IT’S BEEN APPROVED! stamps from respective mums and dads. What do matrimony-watchers say?

I still find it very facinating how the whole match-making has changed so much! It’s not a bad change i dont think but it’s very hard to digest the concept of girls and guys getting together and planning there own wedding and leaving parents just to be approvers (some cases not even that) and moving away from the whole arranged marriages (to cousins) thing. Just out of curiosity, does tht mean we are loosing the traditional culture of pakistan? I dont know… It would be interesting to get everyones view on this…

Its a free world. Any one can do any thing as long as he or she does not harm anyone else.

Islam is also in the favor of leaving the decision of marriage in the hands of the woman and the man and not their elders. They can only give advice.

“parents just to be approvers (some cases not even that) and moving away from the whole arranged marriages (to cousins) thing.”

I am very much agianst force marriages or marriages in which woman and man are not allowed to choose freely their own life partner and so is Islam.

Why do we care for marriages or in other words I just could not imagine myself seeing with one person for life time. Live free, no tension of wife/kids. You could easily get away from bf/gf when you think you are tired. Oh did I mention I do not believe in Love at all ?? Sex is just a hunger for me and you could always get some thing to fulfill that.

Mr Noman every male or feamle needs to marry in some phase of life . I also used to think that we dont need marriage in our lives,
But some days ago i got a accident when i was driving my motor bike as some care hit and ruwn away me. Resultatly i got a fracture and stiches in head and i am confine to my home due to that fraacture as it would take tmo months to heal up , so i am feeling a neeed for a life partner, as she can take care of me finely.

@Sarah: As long as the idea is conveyed, we should ignore grammar/spellings.

Nanny is not a bad option at all, 15 $ per hour and just have to sit on your ass.
