Read the writing on The Wall

For all those who feel that the Wall’s Magnum Pure Indulgence campaign was a marketing faux pas, please raise a kulfi bar!

[Read a comment on the campaign by Karachi blogger Zackintosh.]

The campaign has generated only a slight more interest and much more, “ugh!” than the unfortunate “Come to Papa!” campaign by Papa Johns. Now this will teach you who you’re talking to, brand man!

I think its a good ad, but the original *the one they have copied it from* is way cooler.. I think it was of Magnum as well, I saw it in London.. it is my favourite ad.

Um, yes. ^This^ is exactly the issue with the ad.

    Sigh.

Guys i dunno what the fuss is about unless someone posts a photo of the advert.
But back in lahore…way back…like for more than a year or more…there has been a walls advert featuring the model Iman Ali…biting into a walls magnum…eyes closed in ecstasy…with a very pouty lips expression on her face. And yeah a lot of my friends including some women commented on it being too suggestive of a you-know-what…but it was no big deal really i recall…given that no one defaced that advert with paint bombs and all (unlike some earlier times). It was and might still be on the cavalry ground bridge.

SO Karachi has always had more revealing and daring adverts…and if Lahore had THAT ad way back then…then maybe it was an okay advert by karachi standards? Oh and i understand the advert is now with that Neha model…who has been one upping Iman for some time in terms of ..you know…well..bold and baring (but thats another topic then).

Will some one post a photo?
