Alternative cuisine
We all know about the places in Karachi that offer mainstream cuisine like traditional (Burns Road, Boat Basin, Hasan Square, etc), Continental cuisine (Zamzama, etc) and Chinese cuisine (Yuan Tung, Peking, Chinatown, etc.).
However, how about compiling a list of places which offer alternative cuisine, for example:
Afghani cuisine (Al Asif square)
Irani cuisine (Chalo Kabab Subhani at Lucky Star, Shandiz in Clifton, etc)
I really like Afghani and Irani cuisine (since I go to both these countries on business trips :) ), so if anyone knows places that serve all this, or other alternative cuisines, please do list em!
Dude. What kind of business do you do in Afghanistan?
Sweet & Sour, opposite of seaview, Nawab Restuarant in clifton, and Bar BQ tonite !
You should try Shabestan at Seaview too, and Yemek next to Hot n Spicy
Khurram! Kya yaad dila diya!?? “Cafe Subhani” the Irani Hotel. Their Chiloo Kababs were amazing.
In the past, Karachi boasted of some very good Iranian hotels in the Saddar area.
Speaking of international cuisine, I used to frequent this Korean place named GRAND (opp Hotel Metropole) and an Indonesian restaurant named BALI near Jheel Park in PECHS
How can I sign up with the Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad Metroblogs? Please someone give me some information!

Has anyone heard of a place called Dimasscus (prolly spelled differently). I have heard about that place here and than, off of Clifton i believe. ????

Now the real Damascus, its near the “Ideas” outlet of Gul-Ahmed… Come on now, I am not going to tell you how to find Damascus.. Its a famous place Neelam.
Damascus – I love it! – Although the last time i was there i was attacked by a mad stray dog. But that little episode has not dented my courage and determination to return.
Damascus – Well..I have some memories of that place too. I was there almost 3 yrs back on my last visit to Pakistan.
Not knowing that the tipping standards have changed so such in karachi..I tipped the waiter Rs. 20 on a tab of Rs 1500. The guy looks at me and goes “yeaa bhi app raakh laain”. I was internally awestruck!!! But, oh well..from where i see it..i saved 20! ;)
