V’ day plans

Yes, it’s that time of the year again. Love is in the air. For those of you who are hitched, how do you plan to spend the day, or evening? I know dinner is in the agenda but where? What would be the most romantic place to have dinner? What about gifts? What are you getting for your significant other? Care to share for the benefit of the less experienced ones?

although I don’t have any such affiliations yet but I think you raised a good question … in Karachi every possible location will quite crowded tomorrow spatially during the zero hours. I think it is great to have a long drive :) and have dinner at your favorite cousins.
to me small, portable and pocket items are nice for gift making… one can use/wear/carry them all the year round with constant affection…
But don’t rely on my advices I m novice!

I am a muslim and I do not celebrate any non muslim festivals in any way, shape or form.

  4. Zafar (unregistered) on February 13th, 2006 @ 6:59 pm

I think this is the problem with khi metblog as thinly pointed out by XIA. Generally what is posted here represents only a minority of karachi.

  5. SKETCHER (unregistered) on February 13th, 2006 @ 7:22 pm

@XIA…ohh man you have said it…get ready the usual secular guardians of khi metblog r going to tear you apart now. Don’t you know expressing feeling as a muslim is not part of free speech anymore … its called fanaticism.

@Zafar…Although you r right that valentines days is usually the event for the rich and the middle class in Pakistan which is a very small number. But rest of the Pakistan doesn‚Äôt celebrate V day not because of religious reasons but less western cultural influence.

  6. faisal (unregistered) on February 13th, 2006 @ 7:27 pm

It just gets too bothersome and redundant having to keep responding to comments by the likes of xia and zafar.

The level of narrow mindedness just boggles the mind.

    Xia and Zafar~
Why do you guys feel so threatened every time someone else celebrates something – – if you dont agree with this day .. more power to you.. stay at home and pull a thick blanket over your head … if you have a special ‘someone’ in your life, celebrate it .. be it V-day or any other …. whats the big deal?
jeez….. intolerance seems to be the trademark of too many people…get a life !!!!!!! plzzzzz !!!

whatever gets u laid, should work out for u.

Student biryani to PC dinner, all should be on the table.

  12. anon the 2nd fake (unregistered) on February 14th, 2006 @ 12:37 am

eww student biryani on V day too? and getting “laid” after the heartburn…yuck.

and i have to say i have never celebrated valentines day, and dont intend too. i think its just a farce to boost business, n there–you have lil wooses runnin’ around with flowers, chocs and drooling smiles trying to “fit in”, act “cooL” (some idiotic definition of being cool) n being a total wannabe.

wake up guys, cut the crap, blow the cycle of consumerism and western tail wagging..>!!!! you can tell who you love EVERYDAY, ANYDAY…

i think V day is an unhealthy, totally UNoriginal day to “celebrate”. get a life people, the whole thing of having a g-friend/boyfriend (ooooh, sneaKy! yumm) kind of the like the west but not AT all, i mean you’ll hardly TOUCH each other.

n then the GUYS talk about getting LAID….JUST HOW OUT OF WHACK IS THAT???? lol lol nice n loud!

Why my comments are getting sensored, this is unfair. Stop sensoring my comments please.

How Moid’s comment was published and not mine. Moderators are biased against certain people I guess :-(. I have never posted any un ethical thing. I am just at other side of table and you people could not bear that. Could some one point out that I (Noman) have posted any non sense. Stop moderation or other wise be prepare for harsh results. As long as I am not commenting any unethical, I should be allowed.

  14. anon 2nd fake (unregistered) on February 14th, 2006 @ 1:22 am

ok Mr. Funny Name (poo poo head) havent a clue what you’re talking about, puh-lease clarify??? i didnt know any censorship goes on..?

altho (hehe) maybe they should censor people with nicks like that..!

  15. Poo Poo Head (unregistered) on February 14th, 2006 @ 1:34 am

What are you talking about. So many times I have commented and it directs me to the page that “Your comment has been submitted and would publish after moderation”

  16. umar (unregistered) on February 14th, 2006 @ 1:55 am

comments are held for moderation automatically when certain words are used in the comment that are blacklisted. Such comments are released or blocked after reviewed by authors of the post, which they do at a time convinient to them. So next time if you see a comment held for moderation, don’t go running around with scissors. It will be released if your comment was worth it.

Naive: only authors can post at this blog. Currently we don’t have any vacancy for new authors. It will be announced as soon as there are openings.

  17. Poo Poo Head (unregistered) on February 14th, 2006 @ 2:04 am

What was the problem with my comment ??? How could you determine “worth it”. 90% of the entries are not worth it here. Stop this and should allow all as long as they don’t hit below the belt.

I’m getting Hanif Rajput caterers to set up a table (with bearer service) for me and my girl at Devil’s Point at sunset — we’ll watch the sunset and then have a catered dinner there. Readers, don’t even try to come check it out — Security will be out in full force to ensure this event remains private for me and my girl.

@ faisal : you right about people being so narrow minded. Dont participate ! but atleast dont ruin the fun of others

@ another comment : anyone who’s had to go through showing to their ‘someone’ special, just how much they love them EVERYDAY would NOT be making the comment that Valentine’s day is not good. Having one day a year (a couple more if you count birthday’s, anniversary’s etc) is good enuff for most of us.

As a corollary, is someone wishes to be let known how much you love them EVERYDAY, then maybe.. just maybe… they wont be needing your ‘love’ at all, rather than simple gratification.

Hearts and roses and kisses galore……
What the hell is all that shit for?
People get mushy and start acting queer,
It’s definitely the most annoying day of the year.
This day needs to get the hell over with and pass,
Before I shove a dozen of roses up cupid’s a**.

Guys act all sweet and soon it will fade.
For all they are doing is trying to get laid.
The arrow cupid shot at me must have not hit.
Because I really think love is a crock of shit.
    So there’s my story‚Ķ‚Ķ..what can I say!
Live & let LOVE die‚Ķ‚Ķ‚ĶDeath to Valentine’s day!

    “HAPPY ANTI VALENTINE’S DAY”

Poo poo head: There aren’t any problems, the comments are held for moderation when it contains some specific words. There words have been put in the system by the owners of metroblogs. Even we don’t know what they are. This measure is used to prevent spam. I hope it is clear now……. no one is trying to moderate anything….

So sad what our generation is up too, when our Religion needs us the most, have you ever thought of why what all this Valentine Day is about… All the Vulgurity in the society, which goes against our cultural and moral values. We have lost our moral values and Dignity to these baseless, senseless celebrations.
What we prove at the end is nothing….but spend money for something which goes in the garbage.
We need to wakeup and relize our own goals, cause we have a very great awesome history,A GREAT BOOK of GUIDANCE (IF EVERYONE ONCES IN THEIR LIFE TIME TRY TO UNDERSTAND THE TAFSEER), great Moral values and A Wonderful, spectacular example set before us by our lovable PROPHET (SAW). Read and Learn. cause we are so far away from The Creator, as we haven’t understood the Message God has send to all of us.
Stand and work for your Deen, and not for our own Wishes and requirements, cause then you will achieve the forever bliss.
    Think and Ponder

It would be great if our new generation would discuss meaningful events and come out with great inventions, instead of wasting time on useless talk.
Use it to araise awareness and ideas and inventions and all healthy discussions
    Think and Ponder

    @Think and Ponder….

On top of having to put up with yet another tirade by the “morals” police, one has to endure atrocious spelling and grammar as well.

This is what our generation does,a standard set so low, they only point out visible mistakes, but not the message one is conveying.
We as a nation only judge people by physical appearance, by colour, by standards set by us in this finite world and not by what they support, portray and practice. We keep friends by all this worldly standards, and not by what our Religion teaches us.
Discuss something which is worth wasting time for. Time is precious, you never know when your time is up.

    Check this out

This video shows that death can come to us at any moment no matter who we are or what we are doing and when it does no one is ever ready, whilst we are busy pursuing the world and its glitter a fate awaits us all when our time is up, wise is that person who prepares for this journey and wakes up from the deception and narrowness of this world to the vastness and truth of Islam.

Well one makes mistake knowingly, and I did just that. You still don’t get the point. That shows how shallow your thoughts are. I’ve got nothing against Vday if it is considered everyday by everyone.I don’t think you still get the point. Period.

This is the funniest blog yet. hehe. I live out in Cali, and I told my friends to remind me NOT to go shopping alone on Valentine’s Day ever again! It was couples galore man, I mean I personally think Valentine’s Day is super lame .. ((all aspects hold solid ground, i.e. religious, consumerism, everyday should be love day, etc.) but come on it was sOo disgusting, that it was cute!!! :P
