Another one bites the dust

Here it goes again. Some of them are being removed by the authorities and some of them are being removed by nature. It’s all cool as long it doesn’t hurt anyone. Soon there will be a time when the city will be free of this modern graffiti.

I hope the effected people get compensated inshaAllah. I am sure that the appartment complex or the building owner knows the billboard owner. But that is just my thought.

In year 2006 we can still see stuff like this, just for money ppl can put these hording without any security and precautions.

its good that city govt is taking measures and hopefully soon city will be safe from these BS.

City government has taken a good initiative by remove billboards from sidewalks. However, some of these mostrocities have been installed on apartment buildings, and in some cases, are bigger in dimension that the building itself. CDGK would do well to remove such billboards as well.

WTF , why they did not tell that it was under the “ARMED FORCES”. Pakistani English media is simply a BS …. Dawn never reveals inside news, it just tries to be a liberal and hides upper class. See following page at Jang and there are two news about this and that has all details about this tragedy, even about the agency who owns that board.

No one would ever get any compensation because if you get contracts from these armed forces then you must have very good links(personal experience, did my schooling from forces school and had all chaddi friends who were sons of majors/colonels etc, so I know how these people work). The ad agency owner must be a retired officer or chacha/mama of some current officer.

The beyond beauty logo is a complete rip off. Sad to see that a group of people can organize such a large event and end up copying the face of the event.

    Sorry wrong thread

Hey, Shithead, I love Dawn, and it’s been acknowledged as the best in Pakistan by many foreigners who have better credentials than you, Mr. live-in-my-gf’s-basment-and-got-no-life. So just shut up and stop ruining every thread with your “I’ve just gotta find something negative here” attitude. Or do I now have to point to every single post since you came here as Noman (still a Shithead then) to show you examples of this, one by one, before you even admit you did anything above spreading love and happiness throughout Karachi?

On a happier note, Pakistan has won the International Telecom Leadership Award. Details here:

Nice. I’ll feel good about it till hithead comes along with some insanely stupid comment on how any achievement under Dictator Musharraf is detrimental to Pakistan’s intrests… and how his gf is cheating on him.

Meant to say Shithead, not “hithead”.

Dawn is a crummy newspaper, full of errors of all types – factual, spelling and grammar.

  12. Poo poo Head (unregistered) on February 15th, 2006 @ 8:37 pm

Akram :-) I am just laughing. I always wonder who are the people whoc could respond in such insane ways, I would love to meet you.

The problem with you is that you did not talk about article nor facts, you just hit me at personal level but who cares for such childish attitude.By the way did you follow the URL of jang ??I guess not other wise you could not come up with such attitude.

Yah foriegeners would read Dawn instead of Jang, they do not have much choice nor they could understand Urdu, makes sense ???

I showed other side of picture but you took it at personal level. I did not want to reply you but just want you to realize that such bashings don’t result in any thing.

Thought of the day, credentials do not always give you a credibility.

Uh huh. And your point is… ? HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hey, YOU are the one who changed his name to “Poo poo Head”. I just used the more adult version.

I am laughing, Akram is laughing, Sarah is laughing …. So sad , the spam of Akram has distracted people from the original message. Problem with Pakistan is that even educated class do not understand democracy :-(

  16. sarah (unregistered) on February 16th, 2006 @ 6:01 am

@ Poo Poo Head, why r u laughing, so u also distracted from akram spam, so it means u also don’t understand DEMOCRACY :D!!!!!!! (& by the way, the billboard fell down coz of the blowing wind, where does DEMOCRACY come here.!!!)

  17. Poo Poo Head (unregistered) on February 16th, 2006 @ 6:57 am

Sarah, I am laughing at Akram’s childish attitude. He thinks that abusing is the best way to face facts. I never touched democracy, it was the Akram who brought Dictator BUSHarraf in discussion. If you could follow the Jang URL then you could understand why did he take offense. Akram’s post could not distract me :-D but it could distract the people from the message which is far superior than all of us. I don’t know why does this dialogue from se7en hits me when ever I see Pakistan. “The biggest achievement of evil is to make us think that it does not exist”.

why abusing to PP-head if hes saying something true about pakistan army?is it like sin to expose truth about armed forces?

Please don’t be so judgemental about my favorite english newspaper it is the most comprehensive and balanced newspaper on the newstands in this country …..they usually don’t spice the cereals like other do…

i take this opportunity to pray for the early recovery of Mr Art buchwald the senior syndicated columnist whose articles are regularly published in dawn on the editorial page and condole the death of mr ardesher cowasji another columnist on the same page who died earlier this month (the king never dies…)

P.S. the price of eggs was Rs 24/- 25/- 26/- and not Rs 23/- as mischievously printed

  20. sarah (unregistered) on February 17th, 2006 @ 5:01 am

  21. Poo poo Head (unregistered) on February 17th, 2006 @ 5:56 am

Oh cowasjie died, I am sorry.I did not know that, had been busy lately :-( .I had always problems with him but liked him as journalist as he always gave me some thing new to think. I dealt with him at personal level , ab kia kahoon , marhoom baray achay thay, aaj chawal zara kachay thay.
