Catch 22

What you see above is the state I found my car in when I left the office yesterday.

Interestingly enough, none of the guards at The Forum saw anything happen, no one heard any sounds and the last time I checked, I had no enemies. If at all anything fell from the building under construction that is directly opposite, some

What surprises me is that out of all the cars parked in the lane that has the entrance the office block at the forum, only mine was damaged. (im not hoping the others were damaged, but if they were, atleast I would have known it wasnt just me!).

My car was parked between the Office block entrance and the level one parking entrance, facing the wall. The security supervisor is as confused about this as I am.

Anyway, the security surveillance tapes will be checked today. I dont know what to expect or wish for. If someone broke the screen, I have something to worry about. If it broke on its own (which doesn’t quite make sense) I have to dish out cash. Catch 22.

Also reminds me of the movie Shattered Glass (or was it Broken Glass?) about a journalist named Stephen Glass. Great movie.

Damn, that’s bad. Why not let the company pay it? As it happened in office hours – right? :D

Any updates on this? Looks like you were deliberately targetted?

Astounding; wish you the best luck with damages claim and bringing justice to the guilty.

BTW the image is somehow very disconcerting. And funnily enough, today I wanted to blog about the movie Shattered Glass (on my personal blog). On a different subject altogether – having met one such schizophrenic personality.

Anyway. Back to your car and your good health. I am not very confident about our system of justice, but I do hope the best of health and protection in case, God forbid, you have been a deliberate target. But unless that’s proven, there might be other, less sinister possibilities.

I can’t solve the mystry to who broke the glass, but i can guess that you left a 10 Rs Note on your dashboard, that certainly could be a cause as why this was done, hope its insured?

yeah that was a brilliant film. great insight into the world of journalism.

More so a great insight in the world of a highly delusional character, and media is a place that readily attracts that type. In my work with media as someone on the hiring side, I have met characters for whom I wrote on the note pad: “schizophrenic.” (One of them, a 40-yr something published writer told me at the end of the interview that it’s no problem if I don’t give him a job. He’ll be the prime minister anyway.)

There are so many exciting layers of meaning and character to the movie – and it’s a recommended part of the media library of a Mass Communication/ Journalism course.

Which actor did a better job – the Glass guy, or the editor? Hard to decide.

ITs looks like someone did it on purpose !!! HMmm:D

the editor was great too…its interesting to see how the pressure on him showed, while glass was totally in denial of noticing….

The matter is still under investigation, theories are being put to rest, one by one.

@ Afreen: lol..sadly, using a car or not is not the company’s concern. I am getting a good level of co operation from our admin dept. who is pressurising the building security dept to cough up results.

@ sarah & selma: If i was deliberately targeted, i just hope the guy/girl who hates em so much also told me who they were! that woudl actually help me fix issues instead of paying to fix my car! :P

The car had a basic 3td party isnurance, not comprehensive (lets face it, it was centuries old, and i bought it used…so i never bothered) this matter hopefully too will be resolved, and hopefully, someone else will pay for it.

The matter is currently under investigation, i need you all to pray and shift the odds in my favour..:D

i bet… there wont be no tape in the surrvillence camera…

  16. sarah (unregistered) on February 21st, 2006 @ 4:51 am

Did u see the tape !!!:D

  17. Inspirex (unregistered) on February 21st, 2006 @ 6:36 am

    havent seen it…
but ive been given a go head to get it fixed and hand the invoice to them. My admin dept is helping me out since they deal with forum management on a daily basis.

lets hope they manage to make them pay!
