Blogspot Censorship

As of yesterday it seems all blogs on Google’s free service Blogger being hosted on the Blogspot URL have been blocked for all Internet surfers from Pakistan. Could this be just a simple glitch of the Internet Exit Control List or could this be censorship, secretly imposed onto us all by our very own bureaucracy.

I am using Cyber.Net as my ISP and would like to figure out which other ISP have this glitch

Perhaps just a maintenance glitch that these Google services often have. Orkut was momentarily down yesterday. It is back up again.

While there are various methods to bypass this, one quick method is to use the Google Translate service:

You just need to type the following|en&
( stands for the URL you need to go to…)

apprently, it was a maintenence glitch…..

its all over in todays paper that Supreme court has order telecom company to ban all those sites who are displaying cartoons,so Doctor saab, get ready to get banned by them as they would hit .pk domains as well:>

i also have friends in India and US etc and they said its working for them, maybe your friend would be using some bad ISP?:>

I ran another check today, 2 out of 12 blogspot addresses entered were not working. I guess the are slowly coming back online.

Omer: can we bypass proxy servers through the google translate site url?

  17. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on March 3rd, 2006 @ 12:47 pm

there was NO maintainance issue anyway,if there was then how could we see it via online proixies? We should admit the fact that its officially banned.

  18. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on March 3rd, 2006 @ 1:07 pm

Google uRL is not a typical Proxy server it just fetches the data from other side from the otherside and display it on its own, they might be using xmlhttp request object for this task, since its just like anyother URL,it would work with your local proxy servers, unless your admin bans the translation site itself or govt bans it:)

  19. Inspirex (unregistered) on March 4th, 2006 @ 12:03 am

Adnan, as much as id like to believe that it was banned, i cant accept the fact simply because i have reports from out of the country that they had problems accessing blogspot too.

I think it’s true. Govt has taken another step towards insanity. It’s their illogical logic. Tomorrow they are going to ban the Internet too.

About consistency…i think its a british firm with local partnerships and i find that most british utility firms have uniform standards and the corporate anthem…which is….

“SUZANNA SUZANNA IAM CRAZY LOVING YOU.” that your door bell ringing must be MAMOO(THE CABLE GUY)..?

    Not Big Daddy.
