Where in Karachi # 50

I am pleased to present you the 50th post in the Where in Karachi series. I personally took this pictures a few days back and feel this to be an amazing picture that needed to be shared with everyone. Personally I think it is easy, but why not have a crack at it

I thought that at first too cause you can see water and an under-construction building, but there are SO MANY LIGHTS!

Anathema – what a stunning picture you have there as well. We all can attest to the fact the Karachi still continues to amaze us in its own unique way – for both better or worse ;)

TM I must a great picture. Do u mind telling us which camera was used? Model? MP and setting?
    thanks
    peace

    Kaash – a good question.

This picture was taken on a SONY DSC R1 a D-SLR camera with a 10.3 megapixel resolution.

The settings I see on the camera right now and cant be certain if it was the exact settings used for this picture is Aperture 3.2 and Shutter Speed 30.

The picture was actually a whopping 3 MB file as it was recorded at 10.3 MP – so this image here does little justice to the clarity I see on my computer

SWA – its been for the sake of suspense to hold up on the answer for 24 hours allowing everyone to probably have a chance to guess the location – I assure you I will post the correct guess as soon as we near the 24 hour mark ;)

I dont think its around creek club area.. those poles look like they have solar panels installed on them is it so? I am totally clueless as to what this place is. Tell us now man.

TM: If you want to have the picture settings (aperture/shutter speed) of a particular image, right click on an image (make sure its the original image that you copied from your camera or the memory card), then goto properties, then goto Summary, and if theres no information available then click ‘Advanced >>’ to get all the details of the picture. Please can you share a bigger resolution of the same image?

Technical issues: rotate the picture a few degrees counter-clockwise.

Anathema: If u altered the sharpness of the picture in PS or some other software, you over did it man. If not, then the compression software you used ruined it. You know it could have been a very good picture, but right now I am sorry to tell you its a pain in my eyes.

iu have no idea what the picture actually looks like. its a 35mm camera, and scanning was done by the lab. i have not played with teh image at all, except fot resizing.

ANSWER : A few came close, but it is actually the Picture of the DHA Golf Club, these lights are installed on the golf course for night golf

IllusionFS – thank you for the tip – I had no idea about the wealth of information stored in the picture – F/14, ISO-160, Exposure time 1/2000 sec

I have a few more stunning pictures of the boat ride on the creek, i’ll post them sometime on my blog later in the week

    I couldn’t have guessed that in a million years…. :)

MB: There are some Karachi Wallpapers on my blog, although the pics aren’t as cool as this one, but still :)

  20. Illusionfs (unregistered) on March 11th, 2006 @ 3:51 pm

Anathema: I am sure its an awesome picture, it just didnt turn out good on the monitor, probably a scanning/resizing error :/

TM: Anytime man.. so r u perhaps ok with sending us lot a bigger picture?
