This picture depicts the Aalmi Mushaira at National Stadium yesterday night, where almost 40 poets (from here and abroad) gathered to tantalize the audience with their poetic creations.

My father and his friends, all fair conniessuers of poetry, attended the mushaira till morning. They reported that this time around, there wasn’t one decent rendering of poetry. A thumbs-down from them. Perviously, they have enjoyed and sometimes raved about the Mushaira.

BTW, Karachi was never short of Elh-e-Zauq, only opportunities for them to attend such gatherings. Why the surprise about “our people?”

Ramla, it’s not surprise. I just wanted to focus on our “cheerfulness” rahter than anything else. Karachiites are known for many things, as you already know. :)
