Caf√© Piyala Demolished…
Illegal buildings have been removing from all over the city for about a couple of months for this reason Ramla called City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal a “Demolishing Man” in her Blog.
Being illegal it is the turn of Caf√© Piyala to get flattened….
Caf√© Piyala is one of the oldest traditional type “Charpai” restaurants in North Nazimabad, I don’t know how old it was but its age is above 20 years at least.
Caf√© Piyala was famous for the strong “Tea” served in traditional “Piyala” (bowl) round the clock and 7 days a week. There are many people who have memories and different affiliations with Caf√© Piyala… if you are one of them lets share your memories/views with all of us.
shit!no more pyala,the tea at pyala had something *different* that it always forced yout to take atleast 2 cups.Very sad if it doesn’t exist.If it was really illegal then its a nice step.
Never gone there but i can feel the love for “Caf√© Piyala”. But hey! read this.

Should we laugh or what ?
NOOOOOOOOOOO…when did this happen..ohh man we used to go there during NIGHT STUDY before our exams. Can’t believe it its gone.
ive never been there…..sadly….
and it seems that now…i never will….:(
OMG! NO! been part of my life since i was 16. Even did a Newsline story there! NO! NO!
RIP me dear.
@ MB: That’s Ironic, I saw the Picture of school Children sitting on the side In dawn .. Very Sad.
I grew up in that area and indeed cafe was part of our life. May it be shab-e-barat or Ramadhan 27th. We use to go there for paratha, malai and chai. Indeed the tea was good and cheap.
No matter how sad it is, if it was built illegally, it should be demolished. I am glad it is done. In the mornings, sometimes it was impossible to cross the bridge because the cafe claimed more than 60% of the road. The road that was left was occupied by the cars/trucks who were cafe’s customers. Kudos to the demo. man.
Dear XIA
very correct… no matter what it is, no matter how dear it may be, if its incorrect, it has to go.
Afterall someone has the gutts to do such things, I am not very appreciative of Muttahida and its deeds in the past, as it has doen more harm to the city than good, however Mustafa Kamal seems to be a man apart from the streotypical muttahida guys
actually i m happie in a way …atleast there wont be no criminals hanging out there anymore bcuz i rememba only time i went up there some drunk guy put a loaded gun on my head only because i was sitting in front of him and he wanted to try his new gun….and yeah just to let ya all know no he didnt kill me…..
The memories of malai and chai, night studies and what not… Its real hard to forget. :(
Little harm for a larger Good :)
Oh no thats the most famous dhaba in town.
I used to go there during college days.. when we used to study at friends place nearby and this restaurant was the only place from where we could get tea anytime.
Sadly its no more. So which are such places/dhabas which serves exceptional and ‘different’ tasting tea in karachi?? some popular places i can recount are:
1) Cafe Clifton;
2) Three Coins tea at Hill Park;
ANY SUGGESTIONS GUYZ????
well done city nazim!
when something is right it should be praised
as far as the dhaba is concerned owners are planning to purchas new shop for their dhaba so people don’t worry cafe piyala will soon be estabilished again
abay dhaba kay liya nazim nay legal jaga malik ko day di hay CAFE PIYALA dobara ausi jaga khul jayay ga
