Why dont they go for strikes when govt increase salaries of every member of NA and Senate?why dont they protest against it?Why not ARD or any other opposition alliance talk about “WARDI UTARO” when same Musharraf’s govt give then incentives.
Why not MMA ppl came out on roads and visit homes in Liaqatabad where there was a major power breakdown of atleast 10hrs?

I know all of you have answers of it but noone has guts to raise point against them,including me.So as YOYO said once *Pakistanis deserve it* and yes we deserve such things.

Totally agree with Mariam. These strikes are just a stunt for anyone who wants to flex his political muscles. They don’t care if the people are staying indoors out of fear and not support. Because their spin doctors and PR gurus will take this as a successful strike and advertise that people support them. When in reality we are cursing.

I fail to understand what do they actually achieve from all these strikes? only we The people suffer, our vehicles get burned, our jobs get tougher, We fear to send our kids to school, Shop keepers get shot at and their shops get burned … I Think a strike is just a day for all the terrorists to roam around the streets of our city, creating panic and making our peaceful lives miserable.

The transportors calling a strike in a city, such as Karachi is a total choas situation. Any such calls create a lot of commuters who atre totally dependent upon public transport.

If one can empathasize with the ordinary traveller, one can feel the disgust a person (including women, old nad children) undergoes along road side, waiting for a bus or coach under the scorching summer sunny sun.

One thing is for sure, no one wants to be scolded by his/her employer for being absent for fun. It has to be a reason full of prepostorous strike call, for being absent in our environment. I think ppl deserve a lot better than what we are handing them down.

Why can’t they find another outlet to vent their anger? And where in the world would Pakistan stands with so many strikes and who are they to forcefully make people to stay at home?

ASA, I just starting reading Metroblogging Karachi. It is nice and refreshing. About the strikes, i just wish the people involved would come up with some other form of protest. I have to give up my Saturday off if there is a strike on friday. Can’t they have these strikes on monday.

Just one day, one day! I will be rich enough to start my own major public transportation company in Karachi that never goes on strikes every other day, doesnt stop in the middle of the street to pick up passengers, and doesnt race on the roads getting into accidents. One day!
