Blogspots Unbanned Again!

Congratulations! Blogspots have been unbanned again! Have confirmed it from a Multinet user, and its working on my office internet service as well. I’m seriously beginning to believe there is a person at the PTA who randomly bans and then lifts the ban every other day, just for thrills.

Well – I agree this is again a surprise for us all, lets not go start celebrating too quickly as PTA is known to quickly reverse its open access, after waking up a few days. What sparked the sudden relief is left to the mystical powers in Islamabad

People of Karachi don’t get much electricity to visit the Blogspot so they might have thought to lift the ban as we wont be able to visit Blogspot anyways .

But seriously I got the news today morning and I visited a few usual blogs through direct link and it is working.. But for how long ? Hope PTA won’t flick off the switch again.

what a dumba$$ Islamabad based PTA!!!

Look at the shit-face chairmen Major General (R) Shahzada Alam Malik on their website. (an army guys running it)

    He writes,
“””We are extremely pleased to see the amount of trust and confidence the industry has in us and we will continue our efforts to prove the Authority’s worthiness by paving all highways to success. (Amin) “”” hahahahahahaaa

ISP’s should find ways to bypass bastards at PTA!!

    @Adnan, cute!!

  16. sonia (unregistered) on May 30th, 2006 @ 10:39 am

I don’t understand why people in Karachi don’t have the same freedom as the rest of the world to blog. That’s really sad when the government of Pak claims to be a democracy. What are “they” afraid of?

  17. mansoor (unregistered) on May 30th, 2006 @ 4:07 pm

yea.. blocked again :S such shortlived happiness!

adnan: i tend to agree wid your :secret:

sonia: they?? afriad of?? if we only know.. but still, we’re not the only ones doing such stuff.. as major blocking is also done in UAE, Saudia and China.. maybe they get their tips from them (does anyone read etisalat??)

for all your people using firefix to browse the web (people not using firefox, read my comments at the end of this post) i’ve written a script which helps you bypass the ban on blogspot, by automatically converting all links on a webpage to go through Check it out here

for people not using firefox i have a question…… WHY?? Check out 10 reasons to switch to firefox. If you still arent convinced just search on google “reasons to switch to firefox”.

I don’t understand why people in Karachi don’t have the same freedom as the rest of the world to blog.

Who said this that one is free to blog in outer world?

    List of fired bloggers.

Google fires his employee due to blogging.

BTW:i personally believe this guy at google deserved to be kicked. What a lamer!!

for people not using firefox i have a question…… WHY??

Mansoor even Firefox is not a 100% saint browser.

  21. IllusionFS (unregistered) on May 30th, 2006 @ 5:07 pm

Doesnt that tell how dumb PTA actually is when they cannot block a domain even though they want to keep it blocked :/

  22. mansoor (unregistered) on May 31st, 2006 @ 2:55 am

adnan.. i agree it isnt a saint.. but its a MUCH less sinner than IE. For me, it would be the lessor of two evils. Lol!

btw..? where r the ppl here?? why arent u guyz posting nething??? :S

Get real Adnan. I looked over your refrences that you posted in responce to my comment “people in Karachi are not free to blog…” There is no eviedece that the blog sites were Blocked all it shows is that people who blogged at work or blogged about work were fired from their jobs. You provided no references of any Government agencies or any facilities that tried to block blogging. Which was actually the subject. Firing people is not the same as blocking people from blogging.Thanks.

  24. sonia (unregistered) on May 31st, 2006 @ 2:18 pm

So once again firing people from their jobs is not the same as Banning blogging. Sumjay?

  25. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on May 31st, 2006 @ 2:53 pm

    Get real Adnan.

    I am

There is no eviedece that the blog sites were Blocked all it shows is that people who blogged at work or blogged about work were fired from their jobs.

Neither I claimed something like that, you claimed that people are FREE to blog anything and I gave reference to refute you.Thats it

unLike many others people here,i do support such censorship. Why?i made a post long time back when it was banned first time.check this out:

p.s:you didnt need to make two posts to express your anger towards me *grin*

  26. sonia (unregistered) on May 31st, 2006 @ 4:30 pm

First of all do not flatter yourself, I have to double post Because thats the way my system is set up here. The only thing valid in your reference blog is that you are a geek. The fact that you are a blog blocker shows. As for your blog on the cartoons let me just say this. Why do muslim people like you let a white racist loser who is probably a bigger geek than you dictate how the Holy Prophet should look. Cartoons were insulting at best, however I don’t acccept them to be an image of my Holy Prophet.

  27. sonia (unregistered) on May 31st, 2006 @ 4:38 pm

Yet so much happened over some lame white guys wild & racist imagination. Why do you accept that those CARTOONS were acurate images of the Holy Prophet? I gave then as I give now no importance to them whatsoever. You see that in a truly free scociety everyone has the right to their own oppinon as well as the right to PEACEFUL protest. Also EVERYONE has the right to decide their own reality. The cartoons were not based on reality. They mean nothing zilch. Get over it and stop insulting the Prophet(SAW

  28. sonia (unregistered) on May 31st, 2006 @ 4:49 pm

P>S Let me ask you this Adnan, Do you have a problem with women? Because you seemed to be implying that I was angry in my respone to you earlier, yet your response was sooo controled “I AM” You also made it a point in your blog blocking article to refer to the person who wrote on the opposing side as “That American WOMAN” It was not lost on me. CHECK THIS OUT:GET A *grin*

  29. sonia (unregistered) on May 31st, 2006 @ 7:42 pm

Calling Adnan, If a buisness dosen’t want their employees to be blogging on the job then the employee is taking a chance. But the employee made a choice to blog. He/she got caught. He/she can still blog, All day long, their freedom to blog has nothing to do with their particular company’s policy. If the fired blogging employee feels he/she was unfairly terminated they have the right to appeal/sue the former employer. But the blog sites are not banned. So where is the loss of freedom to blog?

  30. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on May 31st, 2006 @ 11:22 pm

I am lost *confused*,what are you trying to say?no you didnt get anything from that post of mine. The points i mentioned are valid and there was a riot in lahore due to these cartoons and i bet 100% of them wouldnt have seen them and they all came out not because they love Muhammad(SAW) but because they wanted to create disturbance.

The cartoons were not based on reality. They mean nothing zilch. Get over it and stop insulting the Prophet(SAW

you have lost your senses, take a break, watch some tv program and then re-read my post, and bring your points on MY BLOG not here.I dont mind to get engaged with you for years but no on someone else platform and No i dont have any problem with women. You can ask anyone.
