Dawn Lifestyles

Karachi is once again playing host to one of the largest exhibitions to happen in our country (together with ITCN ASIA and IDEAS), Dawn Lifestyles from the 23rd to 25th of June 2006.

I havent been able to attend (read did not go on purpose) any of the lifestyle events so far, but ive been told that they’re good and usually worth it. With so many promotions and giveaways also happening at the stalls there, they just might be right. Anyone have a change to check it out? Tell us (me) how did u find it.

Isnt the area around the expo center turned into a big construction zone these days? I bet you would face a lot of traffic headaches if you decide to go.

I did visit the lifestyle, I subscribed to Herald and they gave me a pen, which they would have given me any ways, also mom bought tipal tea and got 2 trays and a free medical checkup, I visited Cityfm89’s Stall and they gave me a free keychain upon registration, and I got a free pen from Philips too Besides all this loot, I meat LION Yousuf Ali of Karachi diver’s Campus Loins Club and on another stall I came to know that there are Plastic doors available to replace our wooden doors. I think that’s about it ..

Most of the stalls were selling their products and they did not had any brochure promoting their product line, I Also found the empty sets of ARY Digital , Music TV and QTV. There was absolutely no one there and the sets were left completely un attended.

On the conclusive note I would say that The life style is more of a shopping extravaganza rather then a promotional event.

Lifestyles and similar exhibitions in expo are no more than extensions of shopping malls. People go there to get discounts and do loads of impulse buying – all in the name of ‘karachi main koi tafreeh ki jaga hi nahi hay’

    Hi there,

I did visit the exhibition on Sat 25th of Jun, i really enjoyed it, though it waz too crowded n hot. The setup waz just awesome, there were indoor plus outdoor stalls, at the outside waz a big lane of food street with all the popular food restaurants, like, Pizza hut, KFC, Mela, Pizza Experts etc. There at two sides were different competitions going on one waz for the Kids where Sherazi waz the host, n the other waz by Blue Band team doing a singing contest. I waz to take part in the singing but didn’t get chance, while we waited for the second round. And at the inside were, Procter n Gamble, Tapal, Warid Telecom, Royal Mirage, Herald, Olpers Milk, Safe Guard, Braun, English Biscuits, etc.. The most amazing thing of the event for me waz that I met Manni ( the Hit Celeb) he’s my favorite. Overall it’s good to have fair, people n specially kids get awareness n is a great source of observation
