There was this notice of a shutdown of supply in order for upgradation work to be carried out between July 10th and 15th in The News today, an article pointed out by Mohammad Ali, which i thought our karachi-based readers might like to know of in advance.

SHUT-DOWN: Major up-gradation work to reduce overloading and providing stable power supply will begin on Monday July 10, said a KESC press release issued here on Saturday.

The development work will improve power supply to the areas being served by the Grid Stations. North Karachi, Valika, Orangi, and Federal-A. 68 power supply feeders serve electricity to the consumers from these Grids.

For purposes of carrying out upgradation work, shut-down of four feeders, one from each Grid Station, will be carried out for one hour on rotational basis between July 10 and July 15. However, on July 10 complete shut-down will be affected from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Valika, North Karachi and North Nazimabad Grid Stations. Again on July 15 when the work will finish and the Grid Stations would be connected with the city network shut-down from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm would be carried out in their service areas.
