D-Mart VS Naheed Store

http://karachi.metblogs.com/archives/images/2006/07/nAHEED-vs-dMART-thumb.jpg
While Naheed Store was really Crowded, D-Mart looked Deserted, and the reason is the Price difference between both the stores. Yeah! everything is expensive at D-Mart so if you are planning to shop, do your shopping at Naheed Store and go To DMart for COSTA Coffee Only.

Could some one please tell us where are these Naheed and D Marts ?? When did Naheed open ? It sounds like very popular choice back there.

Au contraire Jamash. When D-Mart opened its doors, one day I shopped at Naheed and then took the receipt to D-Mart for an accurate comparison. Turns out the prices are mostly the same at both the stores except for some items, but D-Mart presented a more pleasant shopping experience with wide aisles and quick checkout. Plus, given that D-Mart is open till 1 a.m., Costa Coffee is a added bonus to the place.

For the clueless curious ones, both D-Mart and Naheed Store are near Bahadurabad (Shaheed-e-Millat). Both are super-stores. Naheed Store is the old one and D-Mart is new.

i didnt find much diff in the prices BUT i still prefer Naheed coz even though its really crowded usually, but still they have a better and wider variety. At D-mart, either there wasnt a particular brand at all, or they just had a particular size available…and the quality of the the fruits and vegetables was not good at all even though they looked really fresh. But yes, its good in terms of moving around and quick service, the staff was also very courteous….

Its true about the prices being almost the same, although before i went there, i was also told that D-Mart is very expensive….

Another thing they’ve done is to have different items on 15% discount each week, so every week you can get something that is actually 10-15% cheaper than the other stores… plus more open space for the carts and quick checkouts… didn’t knew they were open till 1 am… I thought Shazz was the only one that is open that late…

For all those who are unaware about Naheed, well, it is an old store dating back to almost 35 years. It used to be situated at the main Bahadurabad Chowrangi till 4 years back when it shifted to its current 3 floor premises near Shaheed-e-Millat Road.

I like the camera collection at Naheed, Specially a camcorder Ispan which is 7 in one smaller in size and its price is reasonable.
