Burns Road ka Toh-Faa
Burns road is undoubtedly one of the best food places in Karachi. It is my
favorite place for Biryani, Rubbri & Haleem.
Burns road has quite a big population of ‘Chursi Awam‘ (drug
addicts) who are use amongst other things ‘Nasha’ a very deadly addiction of
SAMAD BOND (Golden coloured Glue).
This evening I went to Food Center at burns road to eat biryani and I couldn’t
find parking near the shop, so I parked it away from the shop and I went in to
enjoy hot spicy Biryani. Just when I came back to my car, I found the side view
mirror on my car in the following condition. It has been the third time that my
side view mirror was stolen from the car by one of the addict gangs but
thankfully this time it was one side only.
Just in case you are wondering, a security system was in place in my car and I
am sure it must have ticked off, but I wonder if anybody bothered stopping the
chursis from pulling the mirror out of my car.
So all you food lovers heading to Burns Road, be aware.

:( .. A drug addict took away our neighbors front yard gate a few days back In Gulshan …. They are every where ..
Sad to see that. You said you even had an alarm in your car. What else can be done to prevent this sort of thing other than park the car in eyesight.
Also there was that car theft tracking service in Karachi which could locate your car if stolen. What was its website and has it reached Lahore yet?
Honda City has a different shaped mirror and is a hot cake for sideveiw-mirror-thiefs
add another area to possible side-view mirror theft: the service land opposite Gulf Shopping Mall at Teen Talwaar.
I was getting out of my car when i actually saw this guy crossing the street very quickly with the side view mirrors in his hand. His accomplice seemed to be this “deaf and dumb” guy sitting on the sidewalk just opposite the car from where the robbery took place.
Just beware of parking your car near “established” beggars; they often have another operation running like this one.
Picking up sideway mirrors and front yard gates are easy stuff. What would you say if I told you that charsis used to take away coconuts from our front-yard lawn and mind you those trees are not at all short, they are twenty to twentyfive feet tall.
It takes a second to take it off..
theres a hook at the top and a clip at the bottom, so its really easyyyyy…
i had a corolla indus and same thing happened with it like a 100 times.. easiest way out is.. when puttin in new glass.. add some glue/elfy/magicbond or something of that sort to it.. that way either he’ll break the glass or the whole thing.. ofcourse you’ll still curse the begger as well as me.. but chances are they’ll leave it alone =D
umer: good idea. Previously, the hotcake was the toyota emblem on the front grill of the corolla, which started selling for almost 1500 each! The way to prevent it was to have it rivited.
Also, its not just the city, corolla or larger cars. It happened even to a cultus we had :S. That was in saddar.
Previously, I had a wire attached to the mirror which protected the mirror from coming off, but once the thief got pissed and broke the entire side view mirror.. so thats like more ‘kharcha’ so I decided not to install any security wires
