Where’d all the pictures from the blogs go?

Unable to view the pictures in blogspot blogs? Access them through Inblogs. Im not sure what’s going on but Ive been unable to view pictures on my own blog as well as blogs like Post Secret and other photoblogs. The same problem has been confirmed by a lot of people. And when I went to pkblogs I found this note there,

Unable to view pictures on your blog??
check http://www.inblogs.net to access banned blogs “with pictures” from India

If anyone has details on this new problem of being unable to view picture please fill us in.

    Nice!!

Days are not far away when our female authors will make post about not getting matching sandals in Karachi or some wedding dress is very expensive in Karachi.

Adnan, I can’t help but comment this time – why, there are better things for gentlemen as well-educated as you to worry about than the state of women’s trivial interests.

I nearly always see you picking on females. IMO, it’s a more suitable hobby for boys under the age of 14. Men must concern themselves with mightier issues.

Is Metblogs blocked? I can’t access it from Karachi, I’m using VPN from outside Pakistan right now. Can anyone confirm this?

    @striker:that opposition was not unexpected.

Ramla,Its all about creating useless topic on this metroblog.Offcourse I never cameup with similar post If it was created by awab or umar but I have not experienced such things from their side yet.

Regarding picking females.I expect an educated woman like you should comeup with proofs before throwing mud over me.Its not my fault that commentors like Sophia and few more are *females*. I cant help it.

@sheysrebellion:No its not. There was a glitch in evening time but it seems things are perfect now

People look for reasons of being, and in absence of one big purpose, Trivial Matters reign supreme. Good luck with your life!

P.S. On an editorial note, may I, being one of the leading media consultants working for Pakistan’s largest media group, suggest that this news has a relevant angle?

This is the blogging world, KMB is a part of it, BlogSpot ban is a “developing story” covered by this blog (which is not under obligation to take editorial directions from every single commentor).

It is an essential element of the news-making world to follow a story and report its developments.

So. Dear Male, this has nothing to do with shalwar kameez. YOU are the one worrying about shalwar kameez, weddings, and girls.

This girl Extiinct is talking about technology, Mister, not shopping. If there’s anyone who needs an extra injection of testosterone to get their minds off the Gulf Shopping Mall mentality, it’s certainly not Extiinct. And the proof is all that’s written above this comment.

  16. Ramla A. (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 11:45 am

Back to the topic: I thought it was my server acting up – no pictures!

What’s really up with the BlogSpot ban and why is it now banned in India? … I wonder if declining organizational productivity is one reason! :)

  17. mansoor (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 12:57 pm

people with blogs on blogspot: I’ve made a quick hack for bypassing this problem as well. It’ll basically make every request to your blog go through inblogs.net instead of pkblogs, blogspot or any other link. Check it out on my blog here.

    Comments/suggestions appreciated.

  18. Adnan (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 2:02 pm

hahahhahahahhahahhahahahhahahha, i will start thinking about it soon.

  19. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 3:05 pm

@Mariam:Offcourse I will react similarly if some guy author here make irrelevent post.

There are many instances where I expresssed my dislikement for irrelevents posts by authors like Mansoor and few others but no one made it a *personal issue*

@mansoor: These girls are touchy nothing else. The whole point was that post is not relevent thats it.

@Ramla:For you I will be a male chauvinist??

Noone is targetting females here. Its all about a useless post

leading media consultants working for Pakistan’s largest media group, suggest that this news has a relevant angle?

UH dont talk about media crap.If shahrukh khan change the diaper of his kid then it will be a “breaking news” on Pakistani media like GEO channel and you would call it relevent because he’s the favorite of Pakistanis. And I am well aware that you were part of Geo Networks. THere was a breaking news on GEO that “pregnant” angelina julie visited some place with Brad Pitt.

Offcourse there re some burning issues which needs to be discussed rather discussing that *ban* again and again and again…

I believe the link given by Mahrukh is more important than discussing a *ban*

By the way did you check your BP after making four posts in a day?I know you would be cursing me in typical desi style

  20. Extiinct (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 3:19 pm

Okay everyone, time to quit the bickering.

Adnan your point has been noted. Everyone has difference of opinion. What I saw as relevant, you saw as nonsense. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. You have yours and other readers have theirs. Id appreciate it if you’d refrain from starting a war here, even if you feel that it wasn’t initiated by you.

Everyone else, thankyou for your input. Ill request the same of you. Please refrain from an argument that springs up everytime there’s a post/comment that rankles you. Eventually every argument turns ugly…not to mention tiresome.

If you guys have any more news regarding this please let us know. the pictures not showing up is still a mystery. Right now a lot of people I know are having internet problems. Someplaces it isn’t working at all, other places it’s extremely slow. Luckily where I am, it’s working fine with just a few seconds of disconnection every hour or so.

  21. Zain (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 4:53 pm

Guys, I must mention one thing that Karachi MetBlog was once my favourite but now we only fight with each other on stupid issues and waste a lot of time and space of KMB.

But thanks for this weird attitude (refering to couple of readers and authors), that made me switch to Lahore and Islamabad blogs. Just look how they write about their cities…

  22. Kumail (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 5:59 pm

@ everyone who has their claws out in the thread abouve
Your egos, as Zain pointed out, would take you down. Keep the egos in check folks – this isnt a blog about individual ideas and beliefs but a blog that develops group-think mentality in a people that live in this hugely diverse city.
You maybe a media consultant or a male chuauvinist or whatever you deem suitable to label your ego inflated being, but all that is irrelavant here. Be that in your own time and space.

    Cheers
    Kumail

  23. Ramla A. (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 10:05 pm

Kumail/Coke, I refered to my knowledge of news-making, which is legitimate enough.

Defending a news-worthy story on this blog or elsewhere is my professional interest & right, and the following might give additional clue why:

Naveed and Yasir’s service has been acknowledged by big media, after all. The New York Times reports:

Many more blog afficionados simply go around the blockade by figuring out how to read their favorite sites. One Web site offered help by way of a free blog “gateway.”

“Is your blog blocked in India, Pakistan, Iran or China?” the site asked, and went on to offer instructions for outwitting the surprising shutdown.

That site was prompted by the efforts of the Pakistan Telecom Authority to block blogspot.com last February, as they attempted to prevent the proliferation of Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad. Their publication had fueled violent protests across Pakistan.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/18/world/asia/18cnd-india.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

They have also been nodded to by CNN.

India Times have given pkblogs.com more coverage here:
    http://infotech.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1767836.cms

That is why the coverage of blogspot ban by Extiinct is not a small story that can be derided, and that is only the point to be made.

  24. Adnan (unregistered) on July 20th, 2006 @ 10:27 pm

I agree wastage of metroblog space on a issue which has been discussed infinite times and people of the city already cameup with a solution. But ignoring main issues and whining about a single issue is nothing but an insane attempt.

@Instict:I respect your last reply. There was nothing personal against you and you know it very well.I dont even know your name neither I am intrested to know but I think this place could be used to problems being faced by masses not by 0.001% of Internet users in Karachi [Majority of our awam is busy in different chat rooms asking for chicks all the time]

We often pick up some serious issue and then expect govt to comeup with solution.

The whole point is that many like me woudn’t like to waste bandwith as well as CPU cycles on such web forums where a single issue is being discussed again and again even problems was solved by few karachiites.

Talking about dolmen mall mentality, making this thread an *anti-female* and other shit.We dont waste a moment to curse a Mullah because they are like *easy target* for us but none of us including me dont bother to expose a *mullah* which resides inside us all the time.

  27. Mariam (unregistered) on July 22nd, 2006 @ 6:46 am

    @Adnan,

As usual, you missed the point. I don’t have any problem from your critisim as long as you refrain from racial and sexist terms.

I guess we all have a say if we don’t like the post or comment. If it sound like an advice then my apologies but it never meant to be. We agree to disagree.

Bye for now, until we meet again on some other post.

  28. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on July 22nd, 2006 @ 10:31 am

@mariam:neither my post was sexist nor racial. You women are always touchy and feel that men *attack* on you all the time.I cant help you to getrid of this *severe* problem(Feminism) of yours. When the orignal female poster didnt take it wrong and did reply back properly then what’s bothering you so much that you keep coming to me.
