Sharae Faisal deserted

Well, not really deserted, but the traffic was significantly less this morning. I cruised through SF without stopping at any red lights. There was no congestion, no bottle necks. Even Regent Plaza intersection was a smooth passage. That’s very unusual for SF. Anyone knows why? Is this because of the president? Why the opposite effect? Is this a dream? Someone pinch me, please!

    zain… im sure my CNG powered alto cannot compete with your car… but i would still love to do it… how about we schedule it sometime and have someone video tape it? would be an awesome video blog for KMB…

    I drove out at 9.30…and was really shocked…
    There was relly less traffic today!

    I guess everyone’s taking heed to the warning given out earlier about the “Big Guy” being in town and to avoid SF :)

    Oh great! Choose your competition. CNG powered Cultus ‘06 or the massively loaded Civic ‘95!

    I guess Cultus would be fine for this friendly race. I am all for it. Win does not matter! Lets do it and indeed have someone record it. Lets give readers a different kind of video post!!

    We will block a section of SF going to Dunkin donuts from Nursery for 3 minutes.. The video guy would stand near Union Bank building.. We will start the race from Shell pump and end it few meters before Dunkin…

    faisal, if you know SF, all the traffic lights are shut down in the morning and cops are controlling the traffic. when i said i didnt stop at any red lights, it meant i didnt stop at any intersection

    Glad to hear that.

    whats the story with the lights turned off in the morning rush hour. what about late in the evenning and early mornings.

    faisal: its the same.. the automated system here sucks BIG TIME! plus, us ppl are a sticker for danda… plus the traffic cops want ppl to ticket so they can meet their quotas. Bring them all together, and you have manual (although controlled centrally via wireless) regulation of traffic.. which IMO is done pretty impressively!
