Rain drops keep falling on my head…

I just couldn’t resist doing a rain related post. It’s been raining on and off for five days now. Five days of crazy traffic jams and drowning roads. Five days of electricity problems and consequently water shortage. Five days of beautiful weather. This weather though is responsible for claiming 24 lives.

The KPT underpass has been declared “incomplete” by our city nazim. According to him the non functioning of the drainage system is responsible for the accumulation of rain water. Not the incompetency of the designers and the builders but of the drainage system that probably installed itself and refused to function by its own accord. And lets not forget that the underpass opened up itself for public use while it was still “incomplete”.

I”m sure when the water dries off and we’re not fighting off traffic jams we’ll notice that the city looks fresh and washed and not drowned like it does now. That the grass and trees are green again. That the smoky mist that used to be pollution isn’t there. atleast for a few weeks. And hopefully we’ll see a rainbow when the sun shines again.

Ooohh, the song…I loved that song.

Can’t say much about a possibility of a Rainbow, but if someone wants to see a cleaner and a greener bit of Karachi, then they are most welcome to come and visit me in Block 8, G-e-I and I will show them a true GULSHAN.

City nazim dreamed yesterday that 90% of the city is cleared of rain water – pathetic
