Black Drinks Don’t Rock

coke

If it’s happening in our neighboring country, there are chances that the same is happening here. There have been rumors of pesticides being used as one of the main ingredients in Coco Cola and Pepsi. This outcry was raised in Pakistan as well, one- two year back, but nothing came out of it.

The diehard Coke and Pepsi fans kept on drinking it but I did notice more indulgence towards white drinks these days. Personally, I always preferred 7up to others, but that’s just me and I do have friends, who don’t drink anything except Pepsi.

So, after reading the following article and keeping in mind the previous allegations and health hazard of actually drinking pesticide (bleurggh!), would you still keep on drinking black drinks or raise uproar against the authorities and Soft drink companies to put their act straight and get the real/healthy stuff out the market?

Well i too take white drink rather than pepsi or coke, i share u my personal experience regarding drinks (White + Black), i used to play squash at a very good level, had a coach as well, my coach has strictly adviced me not to have any drinks at all, take any juice but not this, and when i took it at lunch and went for the training at 6pm i couldnt able to play my stamina run out, i play at around 250 balls average and when i had the drink and that too white i was able to play maximum 100 or more thats it. Such is the hazards of it, if u look at our generation, no one has the stamina to walk for a few km even 1km seem a big deal, why cigarettes, betel nuts and this cold drink.
i had a mail once that you can clean car bonuts and bumper which cannot be washed from water through this, and all the stain are gone, also if u put a teeth in a glass filled with coke that teeth will desolve.
    Imagine we are drinking it……
Now many of us will say we drink it and we are healthy and do all kind of stuff, but is that the only answer that we can give.

Dark sodas such as Coke or Pepsi (and few other soft drinks) have also been scientifically proven to leach calcium out of bones due to their high phosphorus content. Therefore, it should be had avoided by small growing children and older women at risk for osteoporosis. In addition, anybody who does not consume a calcium-rich diet on a daily basis, should in general stay away from coke.

Other urban legends surrounding coke also have a significant amount of truth in them:

However, the pesticide in coke issue is probably restricted to the subcontinent and may have to do with the bottling and storage conditions and the standards practiced by the coke franchise here.

Thanks Shahzad Janjuah for sharing your personal experience with these products. I have always suspected they are not telling us the full story (ingredients). Years ago my family had made a conscious decision only to take water or natural fruit juices. We go as far to stay way from fast foods like KFC, McD, Pizza etc. We prefer good old home cooked meals. When in Karachi I don’t mind giving my business to non franchise type restaurants since I know that are not that sophisticated in chemistry to put any harmful chemicals in their foods.

We are free to choose what we put in our bodies. But I think you owe to your self to find out as much truth as you can before putting something in your body. We know from the experience that western companies are so good in marketing they have you believe that there is nothing pure and good like what they are selling you. Just look at what Marlboro and other cigarettes manufactures are doing in develop countries.

Well just for those fan lover as i was of Shormaas, a friend of mine had a restaurant in saudia, he said to me shahzad dont eat it, i said i love it, cant resist it, no matter how much i eat, i take dinner like this in saudi arabia, i love it so much, he said do knw where the meat is coming and wht kind, he said, this chicken pieces u see on shaurmas, are from brazil, they are around 10 kg chicken and they are as new as 6month old and as old as more than 1year, they are put in deep freezer and then taken out, so thats what you are eating all the way, which you love it so much.

And as far as local restaurant is concerned, the oil they used if u just see it, how it is prepared you will stop eating it, how they are prepared and cooked and recooked and used it. So i would advice not to go out at all, its the best solution, one in a month is more than enough for your appetite but one cant resist the malae tikka and pizza hut. I am sure i cant stop loving pizza hut, unless i find it haram item is put in, so what to do then……
One is only left to the mercy of restaurant for fun in karachi if u had any thing else in mind do share with me…..

Well stories abound about them though mostly in the subcontinent and the pesticide thingee originated in india. I recently heard from someone returning from US that Dew hurts brain cells. Personally I stay away from Coke coz I know from my work that Coke clears certain stains that stain removers cant even do. So it is dangerous, that info about bone damage is probably true for Coke only.

Shahzad Janjua, maybe ur logic applies to Shawermas but I dont think it applies to all places to eat out. With that kind of a mistrusting attitude, I guess we shouldnt eat out at all.

well i dont think anyone is going to bother. Our people will blindly ape whatever the west is doing. We dont have minds of our own. Well grow up coz a lot of people in the west have switched to Organic beverages.
