Parking plaza near FTC

If you commute through SF regularly, you must have noticed an under-construction structure near FTC, opposite gora qubristan. The only thing it looks like is some kind of parking plaza. Assuming it to be true, the question that arises in mind is why, of all the places in Karachi, are they building a parking plaza over there? As far as I know, there aren’t any serious parking issues there if you compare with SF Nursery area, or Saddar, or Tariq Road, or PIDC area, or Clifton, or IIC road, and so on.

So what’s the logic behind this construction? Did anyone do any research about it? Anyone aware about this project?

PS. I haven’t been able to take a picture of it. Will share it with you as soon as I get a chance.

Well I saw in some newspaper a while ago that the CDGK is planning to build parking plazas all over the busy areas of the city. I wonder why this location got the preference. Tariq Road, I.I.Chundrigar and Saddar need it badly. Specially the last two.

Well, we aren’t even sure if it really is a parking plaza.

I have heard theres a big need for a pedestrian bridge over at that location. Makes you wonder when the CDGK is gonna come around to building one there.
