The storm comes crashing in.
Its a few minutes past 2 in the night and just a while ago, i was awoken like the many other karachiites by a huge clap of thunder.
Being the lightning fan that i am, i have been enjoying a wonderful display in the skies above ever since.
The rain is beating down hard and the wind is significantly strong too.
The forecast for a 4 day thunderstorm sprint did come true despite a 2 day dry spell!
It was soooooooo wonderful, it had been drizzling consistently since around 8 p.m. in almost the entire city. I was at the airport when the drizzle turned into a shower around 1 am and while I was waiting for my order from McDonalds to be delivered at 2 am, the thunderstorm came so suddenly and the tallest of the trees almost bent over, there was a group of young ladies who decided to step out of McDonalds and ‘feel’ the storm ..yet after receiving the very first few ‘pelts’ of water they changed their mind and came back inside. I must say that it looked so beautiful in the car park and the tarmac area of the airport where the powerful lights made the rainfall look really amazing.
Quite an awesome lightning display it was! I woke up from the sound of thunder going WTF?! … lol!
The best thing is we didn’t have a power-out (yet) :-)!
yea.. thats what surprised me too! we didnt have a powercut either!
i guess the KESC guys slept through the thunder!! but it really was amazing! i kept listening to it pour while i drifted off to sleep!
electricity did go for a short while, i think max 20 minutes in clifton block one. Actually its not bad at all that they are keeping it on most of the time nowadays..
It sure was a wonderful shower, being on the 8th floor infront of the sea it was just amazing.. lightning sure made it out of this world..
i bet a heat waive is on its way to hit khi by the end of this month or something.. do we have any news on that ??

Interesting -at 2 am the thunder awakes you and you run to your computer log-in to Metroblog to make this post and go back to sleep. That’s what I call dedication. Brilliant
(I note the fact that you mentioned the rain started barely after 2am, and you make the post at 2:08AM) *smile*
