So I’m coming to Karachi, on the of 25th August from England. Someone recommend stuff to do! All the other times I’ve been, I shop for a few days, then bum around for weeks. There any other stuff like this on often?! Everyone is so conservative, it gets so boring.

Haha typical Pakistani response. So welcoming. You don’t think it’s true? It wasn’t supposed to be an insult; it’s the impression I got from my previous visits. Maybe everyone there enjoys eating at a different restaurant every night. I’ve never properly investigated what else there is to do, I thought this would be a good place to ask? Evidently not. I hope I see you there sometime Mr. Adnan Siddiqi, you can tell me to go home to my face. Then I can tell you I wanted ketchup on my fries! =)

hahaha: first off.. i like ur response! LoL!!! now.. as for things to do in karachi, theather (especially comedy) is on the rise slowly.. with blackfish, histronics society and the thespian society… so you could check them out. Blackfish is playin on the 25th if your not too tired..

you could go for an evening of boating/fishing from keamari.. its really fun, if you dont get seasick..

you could go bowling, if your into that… its fun if with family (and/or friends)

take a trip down to Aladin water park… or one of two new waterparks just opened outside the city…

if your into art.. go visit the art exhibitions Jamash posts on…

if your into history.. visit the Mohatta Palace, National Museum, Victoria Museum or the Quaid-e-Azam museum.

hhmm.. what else? oh yea!! if it rains again.. you could go boating (or gondola ridig) down from the underpass all the way upto Clifton Bridge!! and enjoy the sights of PSO tower, gulf shopping mall and teen talwar :D LoL!!

Im sure there are more things.. but even i need to find them.

oh yea! if you get bored still.. throw a party for us KMB’ers from karachi ;) LoL! we all love a good party!

Thanks Mansoor! That’s more the response I was after :D There could be a party in this for you yet haha. Where abouts is the bowling place – that sounds like a good way to spend a few hours. Where can I get more info about Blackfish? And lol gulf shopping mall – been there too often. You guys have get togethers often? I’ve read quite a few entries on this blog now – worried about getting my phone/digicam snatched. Looks like it’s quite a frequent occurence? Or are people on here real unlucky?! :D How bad is it? I’m seriously considering hiring some security, I don’t wanna get mugged :(

    typ: your welcome. In response…..
party: cooL! bring it on!! haha
bowling: there are a couple of alleys most frequented, one is Area 51 in Defence phase 8, one at the millenium mall, and one at Royal rodale club (but for this you need to be accompanied by a member of Karachi Club, Karachi Gymkhana, or Royal Rodale).
    Blackfish: http://www.blackfish.com.pk
Get togethers: we try.. but its been a real long time since the last one… dont know when the next one is scheduled, the city captain decides that. :D
cellphone snatchin: unfortunately it is quite common, however, if you use some simple precautions, it will be alright. For one, never display your cell in public unnecessarily. that only attracts attention. keep an eye out for suspicious characters while on the road.. and lastly, get yourself a cheap set when your here.. dont carry expensive ones around :p apart from that.. its your luck i guess :D
