He Escaped Again

If you want to know how on earth Hollywood movies are practically possible, come to this land of no-pure. The master mind of many criminal championships & the don of Lyari, Rehman Dakait once gain using all his “high profile technology” escaped. Well done (read shame) Karachi Police. A surprise was due on you & you sure came up with one. Here comes the worst that could be expected:

“After remaining three months and four days in the custody of police and intelligence agencies, high-profile gangster Abdul Rehman alias Rehman Dakait escaped from police custody early Tuesday morning, making it his second successful attempt. He was wanted in more than 150 cases. Earlier in 1997, Rehman had escaped while being taken to court.”

More Here (DAWN)

Interestingly the heading says “Official connivance suspected”. So we still need a confirmation.Great!!. So now our IG,DIG and other senior officials will again play the old drama, of making inquiry committees to keep the media busy until there is another “Hudood Ordinance”, “One dish on marriages” etc. to play with. And then everything will be normal again until Rehman baba will do some evil & the blame game from the then city officials to the one now & so on and so forth.

Some time back few very high profile criminals, after making ever jail official & bunch of judges their hostage in Punjab escaped and were never found. How could Sindh police accept this humiliation? They decided they will perform “better”.

I wonder how on earth this is possible. How on earth, no matter how genius he is, a criminal dodged few hundred police officials with every one having a gun/pistol/whatever with him. There is no doubt that now that a good percentage of police officials are criminals themselves or have criminal links. . A surge in mobile snatching and some arrest prove it also.

Having thrown some dirt on them now we definitely need to see the other side of the story. With the salary & benefits they get it must be 8th wonder if any police guy can live a human life. I can make any accusation I want to but frankly I would have robbed a bank myself, had I been at their position considering that’s easier to do. Why on earth our govt. doesn’t understand a simple logic. It just cannot treat them like animals & expect them to show a human face. It’s been 59 years now and nothing practical has yet been done to address this serious issue. Anyone coming up with a pretext of lack of resource etc is mad. With all the expenses the govt. does on our a little less corrupt Army & other officials plundering this nation with every way they can there seems no reason why they cannot have all the resources. The only reason which comes to our mind is the lack of will. They absolutely have no will to do any betterment. Why? Because may be its concerns the awaam 95 percent of the time. And since our awaam is nothing more then a deaf and dumb flock of goats so they don’t bother. The rest of 5 percent have money & resources to have law their way which is itself a rotten tomato.

“God help us because our govt. will not” as Cowasjee put it in his column once. Is situation that bad or we are being so despaired or its just another news, we being increasingly callous to things around us.

maybe he has been giving his services(targeted killing/extortion/threats) to highprofile persons in current government so naturally he must have support from the top and those person don’t want their names to be revealed so they must have facilitated his escape….he had already said when he was arrested that “kill me there and then otherwise i will escape again..” coz he knew that he got support from the top so he does’nt need to worry….

I dont take the low salary s*it. People are not forced to join Police, rather they pay their way in because they know the ‘rewards’.

The reason why they choose police is its a business that will sure pay them off back. No need to worry about risk. They invest 1 or 2 lack and for sure they make it up later

I grew up in Karachi and moved to Houston, Texas (usa) for school. One of the reason crime is so low in Texas is the law that allow common citizen to carry arms. I know it is very difficult to apply American laws in Pakistan (two different cultures) however I really like the concept of defending my self legally. Let’s face the reality all the bad guys already have guns, let’s give the same opportunity to good guys, let’s allow people to protect their lives, families and property… right now they are just a weak target for thugs!
