car-achi #13

Number plates! wo bhee fancy. Although banned by the police, and heavily ticketed, people still dont refrain from getting fancy plates here to give their cars a different identity. These are two which i liked, and if i ever get any ‘souce’, would like to go for myself.

The above plates, acc. to the news i’ve received last… costs around 4 lacs! NOT for the faint hearted…

This one, however, is just around Rs. 200 from any number-plate-wala and gives the exported touch. I dont think it would fly well on a mehran though :p

abdul sami: thats the going rate at the Excise dept nowadays… Apparently a move by our socialites to preserve their ‘status’ in the society…. since almost every other car started having custom plates :p

they used to cost around 10k, i was gonna get one for mine.. but then they raised the price :S

Depends, If its an original (registered with the excise department) than it can cost that much, but anyone can make them at home… for Rs. 200 i guess. And no one even checks if they are fake or registered. How can they?
It is so easy to commit crime in pakistan!! haha. sad

well our provincial interior minister has recently cancelled all these custom plates…. actually these
custom plates are issued number from normal series as well and this custom number is interconnected with that normal number… for example you want a mansoor1 number then your care will first be issued normal number like abc-321 and then this custom number will be mentioned on that file…. so now all these custom numbers have been cancelled and owners have been asked to display their normal number … they have been issued normal number plates at the time of registration…

secondly as Haseeb said you still can have custom plate for 200 rs no one will stop you… or you can have two plates one with your name and one normal ugly alpha numeric one

You said these were banned and yet you wanted to get one only if you could find a ‘source’. Why are you promoting something illegal?
