I was getting the breaks of my car fixed at the mechanic, and this fancy number plate caught my eye. I know I would never want any thing like that for my number plate even if that was legal, but then that’s just me, anyhow the story doesn’t just end here.

I may well be opening up a Pandora box of criticism here but deep inside many of us, if we can be honest with ourselves if not others; we know we desire them to go. Most or at least many of us want them to at least get out of our lives. We are sick of them, their ways of manipulation, of their lies, of their moral dearth. They all, when they started looked at them with a hope but soon found out they are, just another face of evil.

Habib Bank Plaza on eve of 14 August

A array of multicolor lights on the top, with a green and white sidebar, was the perfect salutation to our independence day.
I see this building on my way back home, and the actual effect it creates with the lights is BREATHTAKING.

Number plates! wo bhee fancy. Although banned by the police, and heavily ticketed, people still dont refrain from getting fancy plates here to give their cars a different identity. These are two which i liked, and if i ever get any ’souce’, would like to go for myself.

The above plates, acc. to the news i’ve received last… costs around 4 lacs! NOT for the faint hearted…

This one, however, is just around Rs. 200 from any number-plate-wala and gives the exported touch. I dont think it would fly well on a mehran though :p

Its time to switch back to Pkblogs.com people! Alternately, you can also use inblogs.net as well.

Reminder (shameless self-promotion?): For firefox users, you can use my greasemonkey script to route blogspot domains transparently through pkblogs. For non-firefox users…. switch to firefox.

This is a follow-up to this post of mine about a supposedly parking plaza being constructed near FTC. This morning I got a chance to take a picture, thanks to traffic congestion on SF. So, does it look like a parking plaza at all? Someone told me it was the new campus of APIIT. Anyone else got any information?

Breaking News @ 12:20AM: Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti (wikipedia) along with his grandson Bramdakh Bugti, has been reported to have been killed in an operation carried out by security forces in Kohlu and Murree tribal areas on Saturday night. Security forces carried out an operation in the tribal areas where militants belonging to Bugti tribe resisted and after a heavy exchange of firing Nawab Bugti, along with his high-profile fellows involved in many terrorist activities in the country, was killed. (Geo TV)
This news has little to do with Karachi per se, but I feel it may directly affect the security situation in Karachi which has continued to get progressively worse.

With absolutely no concern for the safety of others, this truck is over loaded with empty oxygen cylinders held together by just a rope. Considering our road and traffic conditions it’s an accident waiting to happen.
