2000

Karachi metroblog has reached the milestone of 2000 posts. Took us 20 months to get there, went through lots of ups and downs, but as they say, slow and steady wins the race.

We treasure and cherish the status Metroblogging Karachi holds in Pakistani blogosphere, and feel the responsibility of covering the news and events with utmost honesty. We continue our dedication and commitment towards making this website a portal to life in Karachi, and expect the same support and participation from readers that we’ve been getting right from the first day.

Thank you all.

I think this ride would have not been fun had it not been for all our readers who have contributed over 15500 comments on all the posts that have appeared on KMB, that itself is a major credit.

    Thank you to the readers.

    Good milestone.
I think some of the attention should shift to other metroblogs of PK such as Lahore and Islamabad. They need more authors.

I had some time on my hands – a lot of time :) – so I did some number crunching. We seem to be doing quite well compared to other metblogs.

We are ranked 6th by number of posts, ranked 2nd by number of comments, and again ranked 2nd by comments/posts.

I don’t have access to the dates the blogs started, so there is no way of telling who is moving at what speed. Still, I think the info is very interesting.

The data below is as of September 8, 2006.

To add to our credit – LA started blogging on 30th Nov 2003 while we opened our doors on exactly 16th Feb 2005, approximately 1 year and 3 months later.

This fact itself combined with the 15000 comments goes to show that our readers are far more interactive then any metblog city worldwide

  22. Poo Poo Head (unregistered) on September 10th, 2006 @ 3:25 am
