Karachi Urban Resource Center

Karachi%20building.jpg Karachi Urban Resource Center is a website dedicated to the monitoring of the overall development in the city of Karachi. This massive effort to gather all this information on the website is an effort by the renowned architect Mr. Arif Hasan. The site contains tons of information ranging from statistics and covering practically all developmental projects undertaken in the city of Karachi, a few links are Pre-partition Karachi, Post-Partition Karachi, Karachi Mass Transit System details, Population of Karachi & Transport and Traffic Management and even Infrastucture and Solid Waste Management

I feel this is a brilliant effort on the part of true visionaries like Arif Hasan to share this wealth of information about the city we love. In my opinion sharing of information is half the battle and then a little push and a shove slowly solves any problem. Lets Change Karachi

    Dear Babar

As long as you don’t make absurd and chidlish posts like many others here, you will be respected and appreciated by janta of this forum.

    OT technical advice:

Try to refrain writing email addresses in orignal format. There are several bots[scripts] on Internet which fetch email addresses from websites for sake of spamming. It would be nice if you just alter your email address, for Instance.

Dear babar that email format has no relation with this particular website. You should write orignal email address only when you are getting registered with some website/forum so that you can recieve updates, activation code etc etc.

I was not teaching you rules, neither I am author/blogger of this forum. My[Our] only concern is that this website should not be used for personal rants since It’s a metroblog and I/we visit this website to know more about Karachi rather what some author is feeling today.Teeth Maestro can guide you about procedure of application.I will also recommend you to go thru archives of this forum.Have fun.

Nice work by Mr. Arif , its always a painstaking task to gather info and in this case Arif gathered info regarding all the major developments of the city and put it on his website, certainly an ocean of info is compressed into a tiny cup to quench the thirst of infomaniacs.

Mr.Arif Hasan is my university’s chancellor (Textile Institute of Pakistan). I wish he starts taking our issues seriously before he set’s out to tackle the city’s issues. Other than that, I’m sure he’s a great guy. :-D
